Meet Allen Green | Fire Fighter, Direct Support Supervisor, and Mentor

Hi Allen, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I am inspired by growth and seeing other people grow/develop.Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
First let me say, everything I do is service and duty to/for the community. I am a Fire Fighter, Mentor, and I provide service to individuals with intellectual/physical disabilities. My passion is to edify and lift others up. I truly believe we are put here on earth to serve and give. It wasn’t easy getting to where I am today. I went from dropping out of school in the 6th grade to graduating college with a Chemistry degree/minor in Biology. NO! I didn’t go off to be in Med School. I had twin boys while struggling to finish college and provide for my sons so I applied to the fire department in the midst of taking care of the disabled population. I didn’t know where my life was going while I was in college, but I did know to just keep pushing for better days. So here I am today! World it matters not where you start in life, but its more about where you want to go in life.Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well I work all the time so I a week off to show someone a good time is out the question! However while my friend is visiting, I would for sure have them come see the work I do at the Bethlehem Center. Maybe visit the Chattanooga Cigar Club downtown for drinks/food. Spend a little time hanging out around the house. Invite my friend to catch a basketball game with the little league team I help coach.Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
