Hi Courtney, what do you attribute your success to?
As a seamstress and designer, the most important factor behind my success has been consistency and authenticity. I’ve stayed committed to improving my craft, paying attention to detail, and creating pieces that reflect each client’s individual style and needs. Building genuine relationships with my customers and delivering quality work has helped establish trust and loyalty. For my brand, what sets it apart is the focus on customization and personalization every piece is made with care, creativity, and the goal of helping people feel confident and express themselves through fashion. My success comes from combining passion, hard work, and a commitment to making each client feel seen and valued.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is centered around custom design, alterations, and helping people express themselves through fashion. As a seamstress and designer, I specialize in creating custom pieces tailored to each client’s vision while also providing quality alterations that help garments fit and feel their best. What sets me apart is my attention to detail, creativity, and commitment to making every client feel confident and unique through the work I create.

What I am most proud of is building a brand that reflects my passion for fashion and self-expression. From designing custom garments to sharing my creative journey, I have worked hard to establish a reputation for quality, professionalism, and authenticity. Seeing clients leave with confidence and satisfaction is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

My journey wasn’t easy. As a first-generation college graduate and aspiring fashion professional, I faced challenges that tested my patience, confidence, and perseverance. There were times when resources were limited, opportunities seemed out of reach, and I had to balance school, work, and personal responsibilities. However, I overcame those obstacles by staying focused on my goals, continuing to develop my skills, and believing in my vision even when the path wasn’t clear.

Along the way, I learned that success doesn’t happen overnight. Consistency, hard work, and a willingness to keep learning are essential. I’ve learned that every setback can become a lesson and every challenge can become an opportunity for growth. Building relationships, staying true to your values, and never giving up on your passion are lessons that continue to guide me today.

What I want the world to know about my brand and my story is that it is built on resilience, creativity, and purpose. Fashion is more than clothing to me it’s a form of self-expression, confidence, and empowerment. My goal is to continue inspiring others through my work while creating pieces that help people feel seen, confident, and proud of who they are.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit for a week, I’d make sure they got the full Nashville experience.

Day 1: We’d start downtown exploring Broadway, listening to live music, and taking in the energy that Nashville is known for. We’d grab some classic hot chicken and enjoy the nightlife while getting familiar with the city.

Day 2: We’d visit Centennial Park and check out the Parthenon before spending the afternoon shopping and exploring local boutiques. As someone passionate about fashion, I love discovering unique styles and supporting local creatives.

Day 3: We’d visit some of Nashville’s museums and cultural attractions, then stop by local coffee shops and creative spaces where entrepreneurs, artists, and designers gather. The city’s creative community is one of my favorite things about living here.

Day 4: We’d spend the day exploring Germantown and The Gulch, checking out great restaurants, murals, and local businesses. These areas have some of the best food, atmosphere, and photo opportunities in the city.

Day 5: We’d take a day trip to experience more of Tennessee’s scenery, enjoy the outdoors, and unwind before heading back into the city.

Day 6: We’d attend a local fashion, art, or networking event if one was happening. I enjoy connecting with creatives, and Nashville always has something exciting going on for entrepreneurs and artists.

Day 7: We’d end the week with brunch, reflection, and one last walk through the city before they headed home.

What makes Nashville special to me is the people. It’s a city filled with talented musicians, entrepreneurs, artists, designers, and dreamers who are all working toward something bigger. The combination of Southern hospitality, creativity, and opportunity makes it an exciting place to live and grow. Whether you’re interested in music, fashion, food, business, or the arts, there’s always something new to discover.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my family, mentors, professors, and friends who have supported me throughout my journey. Their encouragement, guidance, and belief in me have helped me stay motivated during both the highs and the challenges.

I especially want to recognize my mother, whose hard work and support taught me the value of perseverance and determination. As a first-generation college graduate, her encouragement pushed me to continue pursuing my goals even when things became difficult.

I’d also like to thank the faculty and mentors at Tennessee State University for helping me grow personally, professionally, and creatively. Their knowledge and mentorship played a major role in shaping my path in fashion.

Finally, I want to give a shoutout to my clients and supporters who trust my vision and continue to support my work as a seamstress and designer. Every opportunity, collaboration, and word of encouragement has contributed to my growth and success, and I’m truly grateful for everyone who has been part of my journey.
