Meet Curtis Henderson

We had the good fortune of connecting with Curtis Henderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Curtis, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Honestly, I got tired of building other people’s dreams while putting mine on hold. I wanted freedom, ownership, and the ability to create something that actually reflected my vision, values, and work ethic. I’ve always believed if I was willing to put this much energy into helping others win, I could build something meaningful for myself too.
Starting my own business wasn’t just about money it was about impact, legacy, and having control over my time and future. The risk was real, but staying comfortable felt like a bigger risk to me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My work is rooted in discipline, leadership, service, and transformation. Professionally, I’ve built a career that blends executive protection, athletic training, mentorship, and community impact. I’ve had the opportunity to work with high profile clients around the world while also dedicating myself to helping athletes, young people, and individuals reach their full potential mentally, physically, and professionally.
What sets me apart is that I don’t just talk about growth I live it. I understand what it means to overcome adversity, stay focused under pressure, and continue pushing forward when things aren’t easy. Whether I’m training athletes, protecting clients, mentoring youth, or building programs that inspire people, I lead with authenticity, loyalty, and purpose. People trust me because I genuinely care, and I always bring professionalism, consistency, and heart into everything I do.
I’m most proud of the impact I’ve had on others. Success to me isn’t only about titles or accomplishments it’s about the lives you touch, the doors you open for others, and the example you set. Seeing people become stronger, more confident, and more disciplined because of the guidance and support I’ve provided is something I’ll always value.
My journey professionally was not easy. Like many people, I faced obstacles, setbacks, and moments where I had to fight through doubt, pressure, and uncertainty. There were times when I had to outwork the circumstances around me and stay committed even when the results weren’t immediate. What helped me overcome challenges was faith, resilience, consistency, and remembering why I started. I learned that growth comes from discomfort, and success comes from staying committed long after things become difficult.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that your character matters more than anything. Talent can open doors, but discipline, integrity, and perseverance are what keep them open. I’ve also learned that relationships, loyalty, and treating people with respect can take you further than money or status ever will.
What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that I stand for excellence, authenticity, and empowerment. My story is about overcoming obstacles, evolving through every season of life, and using my experiences to inspire others to believe in themselves. I want people to see that no matter where you come from or what challenges you face, you can create your own path through hard work, vision, and dedication.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to town for a week, I’d want them to experience a little bit of everything good energy, great food, unforgettable views, relaxation, nightlife, and culture. I’d definitely start the trip with a drive out to Napa Valley wine country. Seeing how wine is made, walking the vineyards, wine tasting, and soaking in that atmosphere is an experience everybody should have at least once. The scenery alone feels like a movie.
Brunch and waterfront views at Fisherman’s Wharf and a ride through the city to see the Golden Gate Bridge. Catching a sunset at Santa Monica Pier style vibes locally by the water, good music, and just enjoying California energy. Golf during the day, because there’s nothing like being out on a beautiful course with good weather and good conversation.
A mix of upscale dinners, hidden local spots, rooftop lounges, and laid-back places where you can really feel the culture and meet good people.
One day completely dedicated to recovery and wellness cryotherapy, infrared sauna, deep tissue massage, and just recharging.
Hitting a live sporting event or fight night because the atmosphere is electric and unforgettable.
Late-night conversations by the ocean or overlooking the city lights those are usually the moments people remember the most.
The biggest thing I’d want them to experience isn’t just the places it’s the feeling. California has this balance of ambition, peace, luxury, culture, fitness, nightlife, and nature all in one. You can go from vineyards to ocean views to city lights in the same day. That’s what makes it special to me.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
One of the biggest shoutouts in my journey has to go to Larry Wade. He’s had a major impact on my life and career, especially in the sports world. His mentorship, guidance, and belief in me helped shape the way I approach greatness, discipline, and success. He pushed me to see a bigger vision for myself and taught me what it truly means to elevate both as an athlete and as a man.
Another person who deserves a tremendous amount of credit is Don. He introduced me to weightlifting when I was 18 years old, and that became life-changing for me. But it went way beyond the gym. He guided me through many aspects of life, teaching me discipline, consistency, and how to carry myself through challenges. A lot of the foundation I stand on today started with those early lessons.
And I also have to give a special shoutout to Mickey Minagorri. He taught me so much about life and business and showed me that nothing worthwhile comes easy. One of the biggest lessons he instilled in me is that when life gets hard, you keep fighting and never give up. He’s always treated me like family, and that kind of support and loyalty means everything to me.
I truly believe none of us get to where we are alone. The wisdom, mentorship, love, and guidance these men gave me played a huge role in shaping the person I am today, and I’ll always carry that with me.

The other image represents my partnership with GOAT Fuel, a brand I’m proud to be sponsored by as part of my work in fitness, performance, and athlete development.
I’m proudly sponsored by Fuel Meals, which plays a huge role in helping me stay healthy, fueled, and locked in during my bodybuilding prep and training. The support allows me to perform at a high level while maintaining discipline with my nutrition and recovery.
The team in the photo is the Oakland Spiders, a professional ultimate frisbee team based in Oakland. I had the opportunity to bring them GOAT Fuel products from one of my sponsors so the players could experience the energy, focus, and performance benefits firsthand. It’s always a blessing to connect athletes from different sports and share products that support peak performance and recovery.
