We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeremy L. Coleman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jeremy L., we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When thinking of starting my own business, the thought process started when I was a young boy watching how my grandmother would conduct her own beauty salon and the business etiquette that she had when serving people. I’ve always wanted to be a business man I just didn’t know how I would get to achieve that goal. When I attended college I was a biology major with the intentions of heading to medical school to become a medical professional. During the periods of waiting to hear back from professional school me and a friend decided we would start mobile detailing service to serve people through washing cars, pressure washing business’, etc. This was the time I has actually started to learn more about acts of service, and how to communicate from a business standpoint. This was also a time in my life where we had to learn how to market ourselves to the public to get the type of business and support we wanted within the community. The times leading up to me starting my own healthcare facility prepared me to understand how serving the public works, how business etiquette works, and how to keep pushing forward despite transgressions. When starting the business my main goal was to provide a service that people have rarely experienced and to do educate them well enough on it that they will market my business for me. Within the last two years we have been a completely referral based practice and more people are educated on the specifics of what I do and how I can serve them to completely give them a better outlook on life. This was my process when starting my own business.
What should our readers know about your business?
The name of my company is Adjusted Life Chiropractic. It was established June 2018. What sets our practice away from the traditional Chiropractic office is the amount of educating we do on the initial appointment and future appointments. From the tour of the facility we give, the patient testimonials we address in the office from previous patients, to advanced equipment we use in the office to give us pinpoint accuracy on the problem areas that people come in with so we will not be guessing when it comes to the care we provide. Another thing that helps us stand out is that we focus more on the wellness aspect of healthcare which are ways to help prevent further issues. Most people think when going to see a Chiropractor they had to have been involved in a car accident or a slip and fall. My practice educates the patient on preventive measures that can be taken to improve your quality of life along with correctional chiropractic care. How did we get to where we are today is through the power of the three P’s that had taught me a lot and they are Perseverance, Patience, and Persistence. I had to learn to be patient throughout the process despite known challenges within the Chiropractic Profession, I had to persevere even when wanted to hang in the towel when things did not appear to be panning out, and I had to be persistent in my craft even when other healthcare providers would tell patients not to see a Chiropractor. I overcame the majority of my challenges by being rooted and grounded in knowing who my creator is and remembering that he is always present. One thing I want the world to know about Adjusted Life Chiropractic is yes we are young but we are eager to change the negative appearance people have against the Chiropractic Profession and also our main goal is to provide a different alternative to healthcare that does not appear to be working in the Mississippi area. When you step through the doors of Adjusted Life Chiropractic be prepared to have a life changing experience to for the improvement of your life. We are literally Adjusting lives!!!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Upon arrival to my birthplace the city of soul. One immediate attraction is the soul food that has been a staple in the Jackson, Mississippi area one restaurant in particular is Iron Horse Grill in the downtown area or a great seafood cuisine Dragoo’s which is located in the northeast side of Jackson. Some of the main attractions would be the reservoir for outdoors type scenery or to just catch the sunset. Other historical landmarks include visiting Thee Jackson State University and some of the surrounding historically black colleges and universities that have set the mark for the civil rights movement. One other place to check out would be the outside mall at the Renaissance which gives you a nice outdoors atmosphere to enjoy food, shopping, and an all around experience.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would personally like to give a shout out to my amazing family. From my mother ( Cynthia), to my grandmother ( Mary L.), and my amazing aunts (Kimberly and Pamela) who have encouraged me despite the challenges I faced when going through the program and starting my own practice. Secondly I would like to thank my extended family who continues to support me and my business. I want to give a special shout out to a business organization called AMPED which stands for Advanced Mentorship Program for Entrepreneurial Development. This Atlanta based company helped me understand how to communicate my acts of service and how to educate people on what they do not understand which helps them make a more informed decision on their healthcare choices. Last but not least I would like to thank the city of Jackson, Mississippi which embraced me as I returned home with this wealth of knowledge eager to serve people.
