We had the good fortune of connecting with Marvin (Geo) Romero and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marvin (Geo), can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
If I being quite honest, I never thought about starting my own business. I owe that credit to my family & friends, if it wasn’t for them G’sM3diaProductions wouldn’t exist right now. I’ve always enjoyed working with cameras, but they are the ones who pushed/motivated me to take what I love to do professionally and make a career out of it. So there wasn’t really a thought process for me starting my own business because I was afraid of not being good enough or maybe this is more of a hobby than an actual career, but thankfully to my support system I was able to make that first jump and start my career that I love dearly.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
That’s a very interesting question, since there is tons of “competition” everywhere and it can be sometimes overwhelming for someone starting off, but as time passed I learned something. I use quotation marks around competition because every photographer is different and has a different style to their work. So in a way it’s not about who does “better” work but instead which style are you better into. Every work is great in its own way sounds cliche, but trust me it is. So do not be discouraged when you others striving or receiving more cliental, keep applying your style or maybe mix it up, your targeted audience will eventually see it. My style is one that goes above what you imagined. I’m all about taking your ideas and adding my own twist that surprises you in the best way. The goal is to tell your story through an image that is soulful, honest, and alive. Life is full of many memories (birthdays, graduations, baby showers, weddings, etc) , but a photograph freezes that moment and helps you cherish it forever. As stated before through the constant support from family and friends, I was able to get where i am now professionally. It was no cake walk though. There were many days of not thinking you were good enough or maybe quitting because cliental isn’t as much as I wanted, but again your village is what helps you strive for more. Even seeing the little cliental you started out with smiling after showing them the results was enough to let me know I’m doing something right. I also still have to work a 9-5 to support myself and my business so that can be a little challenging, but through it I was able to upgrade a lot of equipment and even network. Theres always going to be bumps on the road in anything you do especially if you love it, the thing that matters is how are you gonna come out on top and I can say this year of 2025 has been an amazing one for my business. I am most proud about having an extended wedding portfolio and how each time the results get better and better. I am now to the point where wedding planners are emailing me to work together so God is really amazing!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a huge night city life guy so anywhere where the city is “alive” is the place to be at. My number one favorite spot has to be the Braves Stadium. Baseball, night city life vibes, and great photo opportunities who wouldn’t ask for more. Even after watching the game, you can always walk around and see people having a great time, there are tons of shops, restaurants, etc everywhere as well. The next spot has to be Atlantic Station. The food there is amazing from warm spicy Thai to cold soft gelato. Plus the night city life is always alive and jumping plus sometimes they have pop-up shops.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to thank everyone by name that in some form supported me to get to this point and are still here making me strive for more, but the list will go on and on. There are however a few people that stand out. The first and who will always be on top is God because no matter where I stand at in my life, He is always there and makes things possible! The next group of people is my family (my mom and three sisters) if it wasn’t for their encouragement to start G’sM3diaProductions and take it seriously, I wouldn’t be here conducting this interview. Through them I was able to pick up my first camera and ignite that interest in the photography world. They are always the first group of people who critic a finished project and give their non-filter opinion about it. The next person I want to shoutout is my youth pastor Geuel. Through his continued support I was able to purse an education in university for something I love to do. He was actually the one who helped me come up with the business name so theres a little cool fact about that. I can honestly say if it wasn’t for these people and other unnamed peoples support in my life I wouldn’t be here and continue to reach new goals and achievements. So really shoutout to everyone!
