We had the good fortune of connecting with Erin Reape and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Erin, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Becoming a small business owner was never something I thought I would make the leap into. I loved the structure of corporate America but the thought kept creeping in about trying something different. Being a member of the Pure Barre Vinings community for 9+ years had brought so many positives into my life – fabulous community with an unparalleled workout. I kept thinking it would be so fullfilling to work within that space. Then the day came when an opportunity to buy the studio presented itself. There was this internal yearning to try it so I took a leap of faith.

What should our readers know about your business?
As the owner of three Pure Barre studios, it can be a challenge to find a work/life balance. However, the communities we support provide immense pleasure to me because we offer a safe and happy space for all. Being able to give back to my community gives me such satisfaction and is why I chose to become a SB owner. What is Pure Barre you ask? Pure Barre is a fitness program that employs low-impact, high-intensity movements to enhance muscle strength and tone. It offers a comprehensive full-body workout that integrates elements of ballet, Pilates, and yoga, making it suitable for individuals of all fitness levels.

Having the ability to create environments that support clients goals and watch them get stronger each class is why I decided to become a studio owner.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Atlanta has something for everyone, from workout facilities to entertainment and food experiences. Explore within a 25-mile radius to discover unique spots in cities like Alpharetta, Woodstock, Marietta, and Vinings. Enjoy local businesses such as Pie Bar in Marietta, Smokejack in Alpharetta, Bizarre Coffee in Woodstock, and Reformation Brewery in Canton. Atlanta offers a variety of great options.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Being a small business (SB) owner comes with so many challenges, but having a solid team, at work and home, that gets the why of what our brand is about is priceless. My business partner, and husband, consistently shows care and understanding for the day-to-day obstacles that happen with SB ownership. He provides encouragement, along with actively contributing to my well-being but, most importantly, helps me navigate all the challenges.
