Meet Jamie Bice | Jaid Stables Owner and Head Trainer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamie Bice and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jamie, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is really multifaceted. It started with hard work and dedication from a very young age. I began training seriously in middle school, coming up in the sport with nothing handed to me. My father, Jimmy Riddle, played a huge role in shaping me—not just as a rider but as an athlete. He showed me what it means to be professional and what it truly takes to be successful in a competitive world.
Beyond that, it’s taken grit and an unwavering willingness to keep going—no matter what. There have been plenty of unexpected hurdles and tough moments along the way, but staying the course and refusing to give up has been critical.
And honestly, none of this would be possible without the support of my husband and daughter. The behind-the-scenes work people don’t see—the late nights, the last-minute problem solving, the sacrifices—my family has been there through it all. Their belief in me and in the mission of Jaid Stables is a huge reason this business continues to thrive.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
At Jaid Stables, we’re proud to offer one of the largest and most successful lesson programs in North Georgia, guiding beginners from their very first lesson all the way to horse owners competing successfully on a national stage. What sets us apart is that we’re able to do all of this while maintaining a family-oriented, inclusive atmosphere that keeps the joy in the journey. We focus creating a team atmosphere in an individual sport.
We’re also incredibly proud of our amazing group of adult amateurs. These riders bring such dedication, positivity, and love for the sport, and they help make Jaid Stables the supportive, encouraging community it is. Whether they’re getting back in the saddle after years away or chasing new competitive goals, they remind us that it’s never too late to pursue your passion.
The road hasn’t always been easy. As a first-generation horse professional in the area, I had to build everything from the ground up—no legacy barn to inherit, no equestrian business guidance, just a dream, a strong work ethic, and a deep belief in what this sport can teach. Over time, through a lot of grit and perseverance, Jaid Stables has grown to compete alongside some of the largest and most established programs in the region—and often come out on top.
What I’m most proud of, though, isn’t just the ribbons or the wins. It’s watching my riders grow into kind, confident, hard-working young adults. The lessons they learn through riding—the discipline, the patience, the responsibility—translate far beyond the ring. Seeing those values take root in them, watching their bond with their horse shape the way they move through the world, that’s the real reward.
If there’s one thing I want the world to know about Jaid Stables, it’s that we’re more than a show barn. We’re a place where character is built, dreams are nurtured, and success is earned through heart, hard work, and horsemanship.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh, this would be so fun—I absolutely love it when good friends come to visit! In fact, I recently had a dear friend, Paddy O’Donnell, visit from Ireland. Paddy is an incredible rider who just had a top 10 finish at the 2025 Hickstead Derby in the U.K.! When he came to teach an exclusive clinic at Jaid Stables this Spring, we made sure to show him the best of what Georgia has to offer—in and out of the saddle.
We started with some great food and laughs at one of my favorite local spots, Up on the Roof in Alpharetta. It’s a rooftop restaurant with stunning views and a menu full of pun-filled dish names that had Paddy launching into a full round of dad jokes—it was the perfect way to kick off his visit!
Knowing Paddy was born and raised in Western Europe, we wanted to treat him to some classic American experiences he wouldn’t find back home. One highlight was taking him to an outdoor shooting range, which was a totally new adventure for him and gave him a real taste of Southern culture. We also made plans to fulfill one of his request for a NASCAR driving experience at Atlanta Motor Speedway—because what’s more American than that?
If we had a full week together, I’d mix in a little of everything: a morning coffee and stroll through Alpharetta, a visit to the Blue Ridge Mountains for some hiking and gorgeous views, dinner and live music in downtown Woodstock, and definitely a Braves game if the schedule lined up. I’d also make sure we stopped by some of our amazing local tack shops and boutiques, every equestrian loves a good shopping day!
Georgia has so much charm, and the people here—especially in the horse community—are what make it truly special. Whether you’re here for a day or a week, there’s no shortage of things to experience, and I’m always excited to share the best of it with the people I care about.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely—I have so many people to be grateful for, but I want to dedicate my shoutout to both my parents, Carrie Riddle and my late father, Jimmy Riddle. They are largely the reason for my success. From the moment I climbed on a pony at six years old to the trainer I am today, they laid the foundation of what hard work and dedication means. My Dad taught me what it means to work hard, to show what you can do rather than just talk about it, and most importantly, what it truly takes to become a champion.
My father played professional baseball, and he passed on to me the mentality of an athlete—discipline, grit, and consistency. I remember him saying, “If we’re going to do this, and it’s going to be your sport, then you’re going to give it everything you’ve got.” And he backed that up—driving me to every practice and show,
As a teenager, I worked at the barns I trained at, learning the trade from the ground up and dreaming of becoming a professional. In 2010, I was newly married, working full-time as a special needs elementary school teacher and training horses part-time. A few years into our marriage, my husband, David Bice, saw that the fire I had for riding, competing, and teaching others hadn’t dimmed. He encouraged me to resign from my teaching job and pursue my childhood dream full time.
I’ll never forget—he even threw me a party at our house to celebrate the launch of my business. That moment changed everything. I took the leap, and I’ve never looked back.
So this shoutout is for all of them—my Dad and Mom, who built the foundation and supported me from an early age and my husband, who helped me take the leap and continued support.
