We had the good fortune of connecting with Chasity Davenport and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chasity, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
Hairstylists are often considered more of a creative force, artists helping people capture their own beauty in a visual way. The interpersonal relationships we curate to make people feel comfortable, trusted, are often overlooked. This industry is loaded with humans who know how to connect with others and make them feel at home.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started out as a little girl with my crayola scissors trimming everyone’s hair around me. They weren’t super pleased with the results at that phase of my life but there was always this acknowledgment that I was meant to help other women feel beautiful. Hair Extensions have always been a key player in that because of the instant gratification they provide. We don’t have to settle with whatever hand we’re dealt, there are so many options out there to elevate your hair. The most important part of the process is the relationships we build along the way and that’s what’s led me this far.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Covington is a gem. It’s a huge film hub because we have this charming downtown square. Our itinerary would include a stop at Kellye’s Personal fitness for an early morning workout, lunch at Amici, a shopping trip around the square to visit Ridge avenue & dinner on the patio at City Pharmacy to end the night! Mystic Grill is also a great restaurant in town that draws in tourists due to filming and it’s a classic Covington tourist attraction thanks to Vampire Diaries & Sweet Magnolias.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wouldn’t be where I am without the support of my clients, family, friends & girls who have stuck by my side since we opened. There are constant ebbs and flows in business and not everyone is going to stay aligned with your goals/vision and that’s okay. My assistant Alex is a constant support in making sure Wildflower is functional and lifts me up even on my worst days. My husband, Matt and kids are my biggest cheerleaders. Family is so important and will always be the root of your support system.
