Today we’re excited to be connecting with Jamenda Whitehead again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Jamenda, always such a pleasure connecting with you and thank you for sharing your stories, insights and inspiring messages with our community. We’re looking forward to getting the download and what you have been up to since our last interview, but first can you briefly introduce yourself to folks who might have missed the prior conversation.
My name is Jamenda Whitehead, and I am the owner and lead photographer at JAM&CO Studios. I’ve been in the industry for the last 8 years, and have been able to expand over the past few years, into both a wedding photography and videography brand serving clients in the immediate Atlanta area and abroad.

As we now work together as a team, we’ve become really passionate about making sure clients get the most out of their wedding day. The day goes by so quickly, and as we are planning out all of the memories to capture, I am always trying to encourage our couples to find a moment to just breathe and be in each other’s presence. On wedding day our team is there to capture all the moments, and to do whatever we can to make sure our couple has an amazing day. Whether it’s driving the bride to the venue, tying all the groomsmen’s bowties, or running back to get the rings during the ceremony, we want to keep our Bride’s and Groom’s as stress free as possible.

Awesome, so we reached out because we wanted to hear all about what you have been up to since we last connected.
In 2024 I rebranded the company from JGraced Photography to JAM&CO Studios. I loved the name and meaning behind JGraced, but felt the brand wasn’t resonating with clients. On the other hand when I would enter the Groom or Bridal suite on wedding day, I would say “Hey guys my name is JAM…. not Jelly, but JAM”, and they would immediately get it, remember my name, and I would often here “Hey JAM” called out later on in the day during the reception. After playing with different variations, the new brand, JAM&CO Studios was born. Once the new brand name was established I worked with Amber of Blu Rose Designs, to create a new branding suite, and with Octavia of Octavia Elease Designs to help with the transition of my website.

There were a few other major updates that came with the rebrand. To start, I am now a full time photographer after leaving my corporate position in November of 2023. It’s been over a year as a full time entrepreneur, and a blessing to be able to work on my business full time. I’m learning there are so many things to track, monitor, and implement on the back end; but I’m loving every minute of it.

The other big update was a full rollout of wedding videography services in 2024 to complement photography. We soft launched video about 3 years ago and my sister Janeen came on to the team to provide video services to clients along side me. I’m extremely excited to have her on now, and be able to offer both services under one brand, as a dedicated team capturing our clients memories on their special day.

2024 was a big year, for my business and I’m so grateful for the opportunities I had and the growth we were able to see. Other firsts we’ve had on the journey this past year – Captured our first international wedding in Los Cabos Mexico, added drone videography, wedding day with the full team at the Georgia Aquarium, wedding in Savannah Georgia, booked 50% of weddings for photo and video, and grew the business 39%

I have a feeling 2025 will be even bigger, and I’m excited to continue building and growing with the team to provide the best in service photography and videography brand our couples love and trust for their wedding day!

We have now arrived at one of our favorite parts of the interview – the lightning round. We’ll ask you a few quick questions to give us all some fun insights about you.
