Meet Iam Will | Rap Artist & Small Business Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Iam Will and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi iAm, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I didn’t want to be apart of the norm. It’s like I seen the life that the world was trying to train me for, and I said no. I’m big on being myself in all categories. I chose this career because it aligns with my core values, passions, and goals. You never know who you could inspire doing what you doing, so being that impact and influence is everything. In this field I’m able to show who I am

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
To be great, you must know why you are even associated with a label of that status. I feel what sets me apart from the millions of artist out there, will be the vibes I bring to the beat. Mr. Hanky told me that. My music gets you in a mood or a mindset where all odds and challenges don’t have no power. Whether you catch me live or if I’m in your playlist, things will feel different after the connection is made.
Consistency and ambition is all that lead me to achieve what I have achieved. 2024 rookie artist of the year at the biggest independent artist award show in the country, was awarded to myself. Now I’m nominated Male Rap Artist of the year. Nothing comes easy, but we can make them look like they do. That was seems to happen when you stay in your own lane and focus on what matters on the inside. And that I did. I overcame whatever obstacle that was put to stop me or slow me down. The level of focus I gained made me unbothered to a lot.
However, living in the fast lane comes with consequences. Being misunderstood, neglecting the ones you care about. I struggled to find balance. And still do. I feel that will be a on going battle for me as I chase my dreams. I have flaws that I am not trying to hide. I want the world to look at me as the example. A person can be their self and be successful. Without the code switching, or the secret agendas.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta, GA has always been the best city to grow up in since I was old enough to say it lol.
First stop would have to be my “hood” or hometown. I am from the West end community, Zone 4. A new gentrified community that people visit still. However the memories that were made before the changes are still good as new.
When it comes to food places, I eat like a kid, fast food me, wings, or my favorite is chicken tenders and fries. But if I’m not in the mood for any of that, then you can catch me at Waffle House
On a Tuesday I’ll pop out and go support some of my friends at some open mics at Takeoff Atl. No matter how big I get I love being surrounded around the people that was with me before the motion came.
If it’s busy this week I might have to go to a photoshoot with my label Major act productions at Bookwithbonestudios. Or working on music usually takes most of my day. Making hit songs takes real isolation for me.
I’m more lowkey. I don’t like to be where everyone be at. So how I move will never be something you use to. You’ll just have to be with me to catch the vibe

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This Shoutout is for my believers. Every fan, every supporter, every partner, every person that I have came across since stepping on this path. I pride myself in appreciating what’s right in front you. My career has solely been based on focusing winning over the people who I brush shoulders with on a day to day. And I can say those people have gave me the belief and confidence in myself that is needed to survive in this industry
