We had the good fortune of connecting with Savannah Holcombe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Savannah, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
Work-life balance has been one of the most challenging aspects of my career, and my perspective on it has shifted dramatically over the years. I started my photography business in 8th grade, not knowing that it would become one of the biggest parts of my life. Through high school, I poured everything into it, going full-time by my junior year. Balancing school, social life, and an ever-growing client base was hard, but my passion kept me going.

By my senior year, I had booked 42 weddings for my 2024 season. This was after coming off of shooting 35 weddings my 2023 season. I did this while still juggling sessions, friendships, and being in school five days a week. I barely had time to breathe, and while I loved every second behind the camera, I realized that balance wasn’t just about time management—it was about prioritizing what truly mattered to me.

I started college, thinking that was the natural next step, but after one semester, I knew deep down that weddings were where I belonged. There’s something about capturing love that I could never fully put into words. Witnessing the raw emotion, the once-in-a-lifetime moments, and the beauty of human connection has completely transformed the way I see love. I knew I had to give it my all.

Because of this I view balance differently. Giving your all to your dream job doesn’t mean giving every part of yourself and every second of your time to it. It is about intentionality and being sure to leave yourself time to breathe. While im talking about this, it is still something I am working on day to day. I had gotten close to wanting to give up to being burnout. 13 year old me would not have been proud of that. Some seasons demand more from work, while others allow space for rest and relationships. Learning to set boundaries, delegate tasks, and take intentional breaks has been key. Though the challenge of balance never fully goes away, I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything. At the end of the day, my passion for capturing love is what fuels me, and that makes every long night editing, every fall weekend being booked, and every challenge worth it.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets me apart in this industry? Without a doubt, it’s my heart for weddings. I don’t just photograph a wedding I truly have a want to capture the love stories, the emotions, and the once-in-a-lifetime moments that make each celebration unique. I believe that my deep love for people and their stories shines through in my work. I’ve always said I want to be best friends with my clients, and I mean it! Building genuine relationships with my couples isn’t just something I do, it’s at the very center of how I approach weddings. Because when you feel comfortable, when you trust me, that’s when the magic happens. That’s when we capture the real, raw, joyful moments that you’ll cherish forever.

Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy, but it has been the most rewarding adventure. I started this business young and while I never wanted my age to hold me back, I had to work extra hard to prove myself. There were people who doubted me, but I refused to let that define what I was capable of. Instead, I let it fuel me! I learned persistence, professionalism, and the power of showing up fully for what you love. Along the way, I also discovered something even more valuable: the importance of community. Finding my people—those who support, inspire, and push me to be my best—has been one of the biggest blessings of this journey. Shoutout to my girls Caroline, Sarah, and Marlee for always being in my corner!
Going full-time at 16 in one of the most competitive industries out there was a challenge, but I wouldn’t trade a second of it. I’m beyond grateful to say that my career has taken me to places I never imagined. This is something that I only could have done with Jesus in my life!! In 2025, I’ll be photographing weddings internationally three times! It still blows my mind that this is my reality—something that once felt like a distant dream is now the beautiful life I get to wake up to every day.
If there’s one thing I want people to take away from my journey, it’s this: Dream big and go after it with everything you’ve got. Passion and hard work can take you further than you ever thought possible. Surround yourself with people who lift you up, believe in yourself even when others don’t, and never stop chasing what sets your soul on fire. I’m endlessly grateful for this journey, and I truly can’t wait for all the love stories still waiting to be told!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting, we’d explore Ponce City Market for great food and shopping, walk the BeltLine, and maybe watch the sunset in Piedmont Park! If it was baseball season, I would defiantly take her to watch a Braves game! Of course, we’d hit up some amazing coffee shops and find a way too fancy restaurant for us to be in!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There’s no doubt in my mind that the people who deserve the biggest shoutout in my journey are my parents. From the very beginning, they saw that I had a passion for photography and never once hesitated to support me in every way possible. They didn’t just encourage me from the sidelines—they were all in with me.
Before I could even drive myself, they were the ones taking me to weddings, making sure I got where I needed to be so I could do what I loved. They believed in me so much that they invested in my first “big girl” camera, trusting that I would turn this dream into something real. And through it all, they’ve been my biggest cheerleaders—celebrating every milestone, reminding me of my worth on the tough days, and always pushing me to keep going.
I know that not everyone gets this kind of support when chasing a dream, and I’ll never take that for granted. I truly wouldn’t be where I am today without them, and for that, I’ll always be grateful. I would also love to dedicate my success to Jesus. I know that without this God-given passion I would be no where in life.
