We had the good fortune of connecting with Jack Mcadoo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jack, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is authenticity. I’ve been through a lot, from some pretty intense trauma to moments of rebuilding myself. Going through that changed me and gave me a perspective that’s not just about chasing success for its own sake. I focus on being real with people, sharing my story, and connecting with them on a human level.

When I speak or create content, it’s all about helping people find their purpose and live fully in the moment. People respond to that realness. They don’t want perfection; they want connection. And that’s been a huge driver in building my brand and reaching more listeners.

I think when you’re honest with yourself and those you’re trying to reach, it resonates. That’s what brings people back—and why they spread the word.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My work is all about helping people tap into their true potential by living fully in the moment and reconnecting with their core self—the being in “human being.” I’m a human potential coach and speaker, and what sets me apart is the depth of experience I bring, not just in life but in moving beyond hardship. I’ve lived through some intense moments that most people only hear about homelessness, addiction, and rebuilding from the ground up.

Getting to where I am now wasn’t easy. I’ve had to break down and rebuild more than once. Overcoming those challenges meant facing the darkest parts of my life, and it taught me resilience, humility, and the power of self-belief. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that we all can change our lives, but it starts with being present and intentional every day.

I want the world to know that I’m here to make an impact and to show others that it’s possible to transform, no matter where you’re starting from. My brand and story are about human potential, authenticity, and embracing the now. I believe everyone deserves a second chance—and a third, if that’s what it takes. For those who are struggling or who feel like life is stacked against them, I’m living proof that there’s a way through.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta has so much to offer, and if my best friend were visiting, I’d make sure they experienced its incredible energy. We’d start in Midtown with a morning stroll through Piedmont Park, then head to the High Museum of Art to see some inspiring pieces. Lunch would be at Ponce City Market, where we’d taste flavors from around the world, then wrap up the day with a live show at the Fox Theatre—an Atlanta must-see.

We’d dive into the city’s roots next with a day dedicated to history at the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site and the Center for Civil and Human Rights. Dinner would be at Mary Mac’s Tea Room for classic Southern comfort food—nothing says Atlanta quite like it.

One night, we’d immerse ourselves in Atlanta’s music scene, hitting Underground Atlanta for live music and St. James Live for some unforgettable jazz. There’s always the thrill of running into icons like Big Boi or Usher—they’ve been known to drop in!

We’d also spend a day on the Westside, starting with breakfast at West Egg Café and wandering through the outdoor installations of Atlantic Station, and dining at The Garden Room—a magical venue that feels like an enchanted greenhouse. Don’t miss the Eastside Trail of the BeltLine, with a stop by Krog Street Market for some street tacos before catching some live music at Terminal West or Variety Playhouse.

Finally, I would take them to The Sun Dial, where there is a revolving restaurant with the best views in the city. Sipping on drinks while seeing the city lights, we take in all Atlanta has to offer: the vibrant mix of history, creativity, and culture that makes it so unforgettable.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I just wanted to give a shout out to the voices and people that have meant a lot to my journey. I do empathize with a lot of people, like Steven Bartlett and Scott Thomas, and many friends supporting me, but one story is very close to home: Tyler Perry.

His journey, from a tough beginning to overcoming homelessness, risking everything for his vision, really mirrors so much of my own experience. His book, Higher Is Waiting, pulled me back into that mindset of resilience, hope, and faith when I needed it most. It reminded me of what’s possible when you believe in yourself, even against the odds. So to Tyler, and to all of the people out there who uplift others by living authentically, thank you. Your stories matter more than you know.
