We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Raquel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I’ve never been afraid of taking a risk. I always encourage people to go for it. I moved from Alabama to Houston Tx not knowing anyone pursuing my life purpose. I only had $2000 to my name! I thought if I would’ve let fear take over I wouldn’t be where I am today! I landed 2 storefront tax office locations months from touching down in the state of Texas! I feel Without taking risks, you may become complacent, stagnant, and unable to reach your full potential.

THE BIGGEST RISK IS NOT TAKING ANY RISK. IN A WORLD THAT’S CHANGING REALLY QUICKLY, THE ONLY STRATEGY THAT IS GUARANTEED TO FAIL IS NOT TAKING RISKS.

It all a mindset, in life we gotta be able to take risks!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I was born and raised in Theodore, Alabama. In 2021, I made a transformative move to Houston, Texas, where I currently own and operates multiple successful ventures: 807 Sports Bar & Grill, Smart Taxx Solutions, Beama Sprouts Learning Academy, and Beama Transport Group. In addition to my entrepreneurial pursuits, I’m also an ordained minister who performs wedding ceremonies. This journey hasn’t been easy at all, but it’s been worth it. I’ve overcome adversity, toxic business partners, legal issues, loss of loved ones, feeling like I wasn’t good enough at time and questioning my own worth. Along the way, I’ve learned to maintain my faith in God during those low moments in my life. The best lessons I’ve ever learned were through my own failures. I think it’s important to fail but more important to recognize there’s a learning opportunity in failure.
One of the hardest lessons I’ve learned, or had to make peace with, is that your greatest support will come from the ones you least expect. It’s the people that you never knew were watching that will be your biggest source of referrals and encouragement while some of the closest ones stay quiet. So move in silence. Absolute silence. I don’t speak on anything I’m doing until it’s done.

What sets me apart from others is not worrying about whether or not whatever I’m doing will be considered ok with others. I don’t rely on what people think is cool to support, I do what I want and what I believe will hold value in people’s life and I’m proud of that because a lot of people don’t approach there business like that. I got to where I’m at today business wise by not only studying other business owners but just believing in myself and trusting my own process. I had already envisioned my business ideas so It was up to me how much of those ideas I wanted to come to life and once i realized that, my process became even easier and that’s what I would like the world to know as well. Anything you set your mind to, you can achieve.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, I’m a foodie! So, we would definitely eat A LOT! I’m always down for a good brunch and a day party. A few of my favorite spots are of course 807 Bar & Grill for nightlife entertainment and Good Eats. My friend spot CALI HTX . As far as hanging out I would say Area 29 or Sekai. I mean it’s Houston you really can’t go wrong wherever you end up.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate this Shoutout to my daughter kaasey and my phenomenal husband. My passion as a serial entrepreneur has grown tremendously over the years because my child and the role as a parent I take so seriously and that’s always been my motivation and my fuel to keep going. I am very grateful for the support I have. My husband has always supported all my business endeavors no many how many obstacles that were thrown my way.
