We had the good fortune of connecting with Maria Bryant and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Maria, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I view all risk taking as a part of life. I don’t think that you can be successful without it. We would all just be content and just living day to day and that’s not me. I believe that if I’m going to bet on anyone, I should definitely bet on myself. It’s always more to life and it’s always more work to do. I don’t think I’ll ever be complacent. Which is a good thing because I will always have something to look forward to.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I believe what sets me apart from others is I am still passionate about helping my clients and healthy hair is always my priority. I have been blessed to be a multi cultural hair stylist. I come in contact with all hair types and I’m always excited to teach and show them something new. I am where I am today because I never gave up and I always believe in pushing forward regardless. Recently I just stepped out on faith and moved from a suite to a bigger salon. You want to talk about having faith lol. I’m in the process of finding other stylists, estheticians, barbers, braiders, and so forth. It hasn’t been easy but I’m going to keep doing my part and I know that GOD will do his. This year I have been nominated as “ My Newnan’s Best Hair Salon 2024 ” & “ Best of Georgia “ in the salon category. Blessings on top of blessings and so grateful. Owning a successful business is not easy but once you change lives for the better it is so worth it. One of the most important lessons I’ve always applied to my business is treat people the way you would like to be treated. It doesn’t cost anything to be nice and always try to provide the best service and best results possible. I want the world to know that my brand and my story is definitely my purpose. This is one of my purposes is in life. I give my clients the best results but I pray for them and encourage them as well.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love trying different restaurants in Atlanta. First we would visit my favorite spot “ The Cheesecake Factory! “ It has been my favorite restaurant for years. One of the other places we would visit is “ The Vault ! “ I went for my birthday this year and fell in love. Their food is amazing!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
During my journey I want to recognize GOD. He has been their every single step of the way. Days when I feel like it’s too much and I’m overwhelmed or even my best days he’s there. I couldn’t do this without him and he is where my peace resides. I have learned that if you put him first in every decision you make, you will prosper. I never go by what anything looks like. I always keep the faith and trust he’s going to make it happen like he always does.
