We had the good fortune of connecting with Shaé James and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shaé, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk has always been a concept I approached with caution. Naturally inclined towards routines and the comfort they bring, I found safety and security in the predictable. However, 2024 marked a significant shift in my perspective. This year, I consciously decided to take more risks, stepping out of my comfort zone with the belief that true growth often lies beyond it. This journey into the unknown has been a whirlwind, filled with moments of uncertainty and unpredictability. Surprisingly, the process has not been as stressful as I initially anticipated. My faith in God has been a cornerstone, providing me with the strength and assurance to navigate these uncharted waters. I have learned to trust that there is a greater plan at work, which has eased my worries and allowed me to embrace this new chapter with a more open heart. I am growing accustomed to the discomfort that comes with ambition. Setting ambitious goals has become a driving force in my life. I no longer aim for targets within easy reach but instead strive for those that require significant effort and perseverance. This mindset ensures that I am always progressing, even as I achieve milestones. The objective is continuous improvement, always setting new horizons to aim for, and never becoming complacent, even when I attain the successes I seek.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from others is my unwavering eagerness and ambition. I refuse to give up, no matter how tough the journey gets. My faith is my cornerstone, and I trust in God to carry me through every challenge. Life’s obstacles don’t define me; instead, they sharpen my resilience and determination. My journey has been marked by both professional and personal growth, fueled by my personality and connections. Along the way, I’ve learned the invaluable lesson of self-worth. I used to undersell myself, but now I’m confident in my abilities while remaining humble. I’ve realized that I deserve more than I’ve credited myself for. As I continue to evolve, I’m committed to offering my best and knowing that it can only improve from here.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d start our mornings with some of my favorite brunch spots like Busy Bee Cafe, Atlanta Breakfast Club, and Toast, We gotta visit the Aquarium cause I love going lol, definitely adding the BeltLine, Underground, and Ponce to the itinerary those always have daytime vibes for the low or even for free. And when the sun sets, we hitting up my favorite spots to actually dance and have an enjoyable time like MJQ, Eclipse di Luna, and a few hookah lounges for sure. JJ’s, Southern Fire Kitchen,Suite Food Lounge, Hungry AF, and Blu seafood to name some of my fav lunch and dinner spots. And top off the weekend throwing in an escape room, Your third spot, Puttshack, and The Painted Pin for some adult fun.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a heartfelt shoutout to my friends who have been my constant source of inspiration. Their unwavering desire to pursue their passions and make it doing what they love has always motivated me. Being surrounded by their ambition has kept me pushing towards my own goals, reminding me that with dedication and perseverance, anything is possible. They deserve some recognition in my story for being a driving force behind my journey.
