Meet Anastesia Opata | Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Anastesia Opata and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anastesia, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want my legacy to be one of empowerment and opportunity for my children and future generations. Just as my father did for me by bringing me from Ghana to America to provide greater opportunities, I strive to leave my children financially free, ensuring they have the security and freedom to pursue their dreams without financial stress. I want them to have access to resources and opportunities that I didn’t have growing up, enabling them to explore their passions and grow in ways that were not available to me.
Moreover, I hope to leave a legacy that my grandchildren will remember and cherish, knowing that their lives are better because of the foundation I built. Ultimately, my goal is to create a lasting impact that spans generations, fostering success, happiness, and the ability to pursue their dreams.

What should our readers know about your business?
When I first started my lash business, lashing was relatively unknown and there was a lot to learn— from techniques to materials. Introducing people to lashing was tough because many women were initially hesitant. In my business, I’m dedicated to providing my clients with an exceptional experience. Instead of focusing on quantity, I prioritize quality, serving a select group of women who have become close friends over time.
What makes me especially proud is that my business has grown solely through referrals. I haven’t heavily promoted or marketed it, yet I consistently have a full schedule. Staying true to myself and my values has been crucial. Even when others were compromising on quality, I never did. It’s a testament to the importance of integrity and dedication in building a successful business that truly reflects who I am.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I don’t go out much but whenever my friends visit I’ll love to show them Ponce City Market, relax at Piedmont Park, and dine at Ike’s cafe and restaurant.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My father deserves so much credit and recognition in my story. He was not only my mentor but also the hardest working man I know. I learned everything about entrepreneurship and business from him. His dedication, resilience, and wisdom shaped my journey in so many ways. He taught me the importance of hard work, integrity, and perseverance. Although he passed away last year, his legacy lives on, and I carry his lessons with me every day.
