We had the good fortune of connecting with Sai Jarvis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sai, why did you pursue a creative career?
Majority of my life I followed the blueprint that many of us do. I went to college and found myself working to repay loans at jobs I was miserable doing. In between those times I would DJ house parties, and after a huge turning point in my life, it became my only source of income
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Being a good professional DJ is not as easy as it appears however it is a great deal of fun for a music lover like myself. It requires knowledge of sound, music genres, beat matching, hand and eye coordination and the ability to read a room. What sets me apart from the next, is the ability to create a set live like a freestyle, and tap into each person in the room. My brain is a jukebox. Learning to do this has had it’s challenges because the music has changed incredibly fast.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In Atlanta I would take them to Papadeux to eat We would visit the Culture Experience Lenox Mall and Phipps Plaza just to get all the hype out their system Ilounge Atlanta for drinks and Hookah and one of Carrie Qs parties because they are always fun!!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Big Shout out to my parents for believing in me to this day and their constant support. My lady Joi Davis for sticking with me through this journey and being my biggest fan, manager, partner and my best friend A huge shout out to DJ T Dogg for believing in me and giving me my first club gig. Major salute to ILOUNGE ATL and the entire ILounge Family. My growth i owe to that entire experience
