We had the good fortune of connecting with Krystal Littleton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Krystal, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
My thought process behind of starting Noir Bella Luminate was to provide customers with luxury self care in the height of Covid in 2020. I was thinking of a business that I can provide a service or a product that people can enjoy. One night while on social media, I saw a man making and sell candles and I thought to myself I could do that to bring in extra income and that was something I love is candles. I start research it and start to look at videos. I love for my house to clean and smelling good. Plus I was spending so much money on candles. I look up the benefits of using candles and recognition that is a part of self care which including that a candle can relaxes you and keep you calm. I knew starting a business will a big commitment, and requires dedication and resources.

One of the biggest thing about candle making that outsider are probably unware of is the science behind candle making.
In-depth knowledge of candle waxes and their properties including beeswax, palm wax, animal wax, and petroleum-derived waxes. Excellent artistic skills. Experience with hand-dipping techniques and machine dipping mechanisms.

Becoming a chandler is taking risk and stepping out faith is never easy. I believe in the saying, No risk, No reward”. If God give you a vision he will give you your clients and everyone is not going to be your clients. I think you should step out on faith and go for it. If you don’t try, how will you ever know you can do it. I honestly didn’t think I was capable, but with the right support and lots a prayer and my mother in my corner, This was the best thing I could have ever done for myself and my family

The single most important decision I made to contributed to my success is to believe in my product and knowing about my service I provide. Believing in my products also means willing to invest in it. It may mean taking risks and trying new things. But when you’re passionate about what you’re selling, these investments don’t feel like sacrifices, they feel like necessary steps on the path to success.

The most important factor my behind the success of my brand is customer service. Noir Bella Luminate was founded with the purpose of building community through a interactive and creative candle making experience. Come blend a unique scent combination that represents your style while enjoying time with your friends, family and fellow member of your community.

I think the most difficult decision I had to make in my business was naming my business. My business is name after my late fiance who passed in September of 2020. Which my business had to take a back seat for a while I heal from his death. I want to honor him, so I decided to name my company after him, Noir mean black in French and Bella mean beautiful. That was something he always call me and I love that.

My favorite quote is from the bible ” “’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. ‘” — Jeremiah 29:11. That quote means to me is when God says, “I know the plans I have for you,” he says he knows what we do not know. God knows the big picture for all humanity, from the beginning of time until the end. He knows how to cultivate good things and new growth, even after decades of destruction and defiance.

What I want people to remember about me is that I love the Lord and I made some great candle and products. The legacy I want to leave is to my family and generation wealth. I want my children’s children to be bless from my business.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Why Noir Bella Luminate was started… Krystal Littleton is the founder and Ceo of Noir Bella Luminate.
Noir Bella Luminate is a small Black owned company that make homemade soy wick candles and wax melts.
We hand pour all candles and wax melts in small batches, and use 100% soy wax which burn cleaner. Our candles wicks are lead free cotton wick. Noir Bella Luminate offer in our candles wall to wall scents, tested regularly for quality assurance.
As someone who has personally experienced the loss of a loved one, I understands the importance of investing in one’s self to heal, decompress, or to just simply transform your current experience. Noir Bella Luminate handmade candles are a response to the stresses and cares of life that change our moods and affect how we move.
I invite you to take a deep breath, indulge in yourself and inhale wellness and pure joy.
Noir Bella Luminate was unintentionally started with my love for self-care and healing. One candle has evolved into a sophisticated brand with rich, luxurious fragrances that sets your desired moods and calms your senses.
Noir Bella Luminate was just an idea during the pandemic after a late night scroll on Tic Tok. I know that I love candles and I wanted to do something that would make people smile. During that year I was researching about the candle business, than I loss my best friend, 💔 my fiance in September 2020. Which made my candle business take a back seat for a while. The beginning of the year of 2021, I wanted to honor him so I decided to name my company after him and what he called me. Noir is Black in French and Bella means beautiful.
He alway told me to shine bright, and that he would love me for the rest of HIS LIFE. He kept his word. I continue to shine bright daily.
I made my first candle March of 2021.
Since than I have been apart of many Pop up Shops that were successful.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some of my favorite spots are The rail. The rail is a great for wings and shooting pool. The food and the music is great. Hendershot’s on Prince Ave is a great place to listen to live music. I will also host a candle making class which I will show them how to make their own scented candle that they can take home and enjoyed from Noir Bella Luminate of course.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my mom Gwendolyn Littleton and my three kids Ja’Kwon, Bryce and Chase.
