We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiana Coach and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiana, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The most important lesson in my career has been to not ever think that you are not good enough and to always follow your dreams no matter what.

In the past, I have always been so shy to sing out in front of other people who also can sing so powerful. Always thought people were better than me and I didn’t believe in myself to a certain extent. So afraid to try something new with my voice or something new in my career. However, so many people have told me that I can sing just as well as the other people I was comparing myself to if not better! But I still didn’t believe them.

I just recently performed in a big dreamgirls musical theater stage play with so many talented people. During this performance, I realize that if I wasn’t as gifted as everyone else I would not have placed me in the position to play the role that I did ( the dreamgirl Michelle Morris). I have proven to myself that I can do anything I set my mind to no matter what.

Being a single mom of 4 kids and still being able to follow my dreams is my biggest flex. I need everyone to know that nothing and no one can ever stop you from fulfilling your dreams.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have been singing since I was seven years old. I started in church (I am still singing in church and I’m even the youth choir director), then in school, and then people just started randomly asking me to sing at funerals and weddings. And then that’s how I got started.

I am a single mom of 4 beautiful children. So at one point I stop singing because I didn’t think I could fulfill my dreams and be a mother at the same time.

Turns out I can still follow my dreams and not only am I songstress. I’m also an actress and aspiring model.

One thing I want the world to know is that no matter what you go through in life no matter what people tell you you can always follow your dreams.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely take my best friend to Charlotte, North Carolina. We would go to the winery, go to Ruth Chris because that is my favorite restaurant, and then shopping will definitely be on the itinerary. Charlotte is such a big beautiful city. I just love it there because there is always something new to do and I love to site see the big buildings !

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would have to dedicate my shoutout to my sister Jasmine. She has been my rock since birth! Always supporting, encouraging, and rooting me on. She wants nothing but the best for her big sister. Her drive in life amazes me. If I am ever doubting myself, she is there to tell me to get it together, and keep pushing keep the faith. One thing I can say is that no matter what happens in my career I will always have her by my side and I never have to second-guess that.

I would also like to give a shout out to someone who does not even know how much I look up to her Kadiesha McClary. She is an awesome actress and singer herself. She is forever, giving me great tips and finding me opportunities in this industry. Anytime I say, I can’t she says “you can”. I love that she is not the person who only thinks of self. A lot of people in this industry think that way and when other doors open, they don’t think to mention it to anyone else Kadiesha is far from that. She wants everyone to win. She wants me to win! I can’t wait to share the stage with her someday.
