Hi Shuning, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued an artistic and creative career because it allows me to express myself in a unique and meaningful way. As a dancer and choreographer, I have always been drawn to the power of movement and storytelling. Through my art, I can convey emotions, ideas, and experiences that may be difficult to express through words alone. It’s incredibly fulfilling to connect with audiences on a visceral level and to inspire them through my work. Additionally, the process of creating and collaborating with other artists fuels my passion and drives me to constantly explore new possibilities within my craft. Overall, pursuing an artistic career allows me to follow my passion, share my voice, and hopefully make a positive impact on the world around me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is deeply rooted in storytelling through movement, capturing emotions and experiences that transcend language barriers. What sets me apart is my commitment to authenticity and innovation. I strive to infuse each piece with a unique perspective, drawing inspiration from diverse cultures and personal narratives to create performances that resonate with audiences on a profound level.

I am most proud of my ability to connect with others through my art, fostering empathy and understanding through shared experiences. I am excited about the endless possibilities for collaboration and exploration within the dance community, constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible.

My journey to where I am today professionally has been far from easy. I have faced numerous challenges, from self-doubt to financial constraints, but each obstacle has only fueled my determination to succeed. I have learned to embrace failure as a necessary part of growth, turning setbacks into opportunities for learning and improvement.

The most important lesson I’ve learned along the way is the power of perseverance and resilience. Success rarely comes overnight, and it’s the ability to keep pushing forward in the face of adversity that ultimately leads to achievement.

What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that I am passionate about using dance as a tool for social change and empowerment. I believe in the transformative power of art to inspire, educate, and unite people from all walks of life. My story is one of perseverance, creativity, and a deep-seated belief in the power of dance to make a difference in the world.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
During our week-long adventure, we’d explore all the tasty treasures the city has to offer. From casual food trucks serving up mouthwatering tacos to cozy cafes with the best brunch in town, we’d hit up all the hotspots. We’d wander through local markets, sampling fresh produce and artisanal snacks, and duck into hidden gem eateries down charming side streets. And of course, we’d satisfy our sweet tooth with scoops of creamy gelato and decadent pastries from local bakeries. It’d be a delicious journey filled with unforgettable flavors and foodie fun!

I am incredibly grateful to my dance teachers, whose guidance and encouragement have been instrumental in every step of my artistic journey. Their passion for dance and commitment to excellence have inspired me to push my boundaries and strive for greatness. From refining my technique to nurturing my creativity, they have equipped me with the skills and confidence to pursue my dreams fearlessly.

Moreover, I owe a debt of gratitude to my parents, whose unwavering support and sacrifice have made all of this possible. Their belief in my potential and relentless encouragement have been my guiding light through the highs and lows of pursuing a creative career. Their love and unwavering support have given me the strength to overcome obstacles and pursue my passion with determination and resilience.
