Meet Raven Horton | Film & Theatre writer & director, photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Raven Horton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Raven, how do you think about risk?
I believe that risk taking is so important. You’ll never know what could happen if you don’t take that risk. You might fail, which is apart of the process but if you can only get back up and try again and keep taking risks, you will make it. In my own life, I have been afraid to take risks but after I took it, I realized that I wouldn’t have grown as a person, or an artist if I didn’t.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I would say I am most excited to see what the future holds for me, I know that I am creative and passionate and it will take me very far. I’m most proud of completing film school. I got here professionally by serving and working the drama department at my church, All About Change Ministries. It was definitely not an easy journey but what keeps me going is remembering why I started. I’ve learned the importance of consistency and discipline, I learned there is power in my work and to always believe in myself. I want the world to know that anything is possible and trust God through it all.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Depending on the sports season and being a proud Georgia native I would definitely go to a Hawks or Braves game, and I would definitely swing by Mr. Krabs Hut on the south side, Benihana, or The Flying biscuit for breakfast.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My biggest support group would have to be my church family at All About Change Ministries in Stockbridge, GA. That’s where my career in theatre as a director started.
