We had the good fortune of connecting with John Q. Pearce and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi John Q., other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
The Most important decision I’ve made that contributed to my success was to “take control of my destiny”. If there is something I have a vision for or want to do, I can not wait on anybody else to approve of my vision or tell me how to do it. I must Trust, and Believe in myself and have the confidence in my vision. I need to put in maximum effort and cover all my bases to achieve my goal.

In doing that I’ve learned many skills, I’ve obtained a deeper understanding of the many jobs and task required to achieve particular aspects of my vision. With this knowledge, I can ask/ hire help, I can teach, train, and communicate properly what I’m looking to achieve, and execute.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m Multifaceted.

In 2011 Myself and a long time friend Kenneth Brown Created a Company called “All My Homies LLC” originally it was to be a Record label to support us and our other close friends music careers, Over time All My Homies LLC has morphed into a Production company Housing Photography, Videography, Live broadcasting services, Artist Management, Music event services , A Publishing Company, as well as the Parent Company to my Music Consulting company called “Consult Q&A”.

In 2020 Myself and my colleague Alex Abbott created an Music Consulting company underneath “All My Homies LLC” called “Consult Q&A” We offer FREE!! Consultation on music other aspects in the industry every Wednesday at 8:30pm live on all streaming platforms. (Twitch,Youtube, Ect)[ www.consultqna.com] After years of fumbling our way through the music industry and countless mistakes, we both thought that in addition to teaching at the college there are other ways we can help aspiring individuals in the music industry. Weather is Music Business advice or getting started, Mixing and mastering tips and “How To’s”, Referrals, Studio Consultations, ect.

I’d also like to mention I am a College Professor at Valencia College in Orlando Florida, Currently Teaching Digital Audio Workstations (Specializing in ProTools), Previous Semester’s I’ve taught Fundamentals of Sound as well as Intermediate A/V Production. I’m Also the Valencia College Radio Stations Program Director / Station Manager.

I’m also a Professional DJ holding a few Weekly residencies in edition to booking events and creating special monthly events. As well as a Journeyman Live sound and Lighting technician.

I’m honestly probably forgetting something haha, just know in the music industry its best to be multi-talented.

How did i get to where i am today professionally? Literally fumbling my way through everything, It was not easy, took a lot of dedication, reading, making mistakes, losing money, practicing, experimenting, LISTENING!!!, and educating myself. I originally started my entrepreneurship in 2004 when i was just in highschool 14 years old by the way, creating music, Burning CDs, Booking my own shows, Managing a group. Things were really different and YouTube was in its infancy and didn’t have any tutorials like it does now. In the early years it was a lot of trial and error. But you have to keep putting one foot in front of the other and if you really believe and have the passion in what it is your doing, you will grow!

How I overcame the challenges was i made sure to Celebrate the small success, FINANCIAL LITERACY!, Pivot and adapt when things were not working but never give up, continued to have fun, Quarterly I will self reflect and set goals / Review previous goals. I will also always seek to learn something new, Either related to the industry or not, I’ve learned over time that when learning something new it would keep my brain fresh and keep my creative juices flowing.

if anyone reading this is interested in checking out The Consult Q&A show, you can watch us live every Wednesday at 8:30pm EST via Youtube or Twitch @allmyhomies. You can find previous episodes and streams on demand on all podcast streaming platforms. Again everything we do is free during the Live show, Join us, Hang out, Ask questions, its a good time I promise!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are many people who have helped me and been there for me throughout the years with relentless support. I’ll try to keep this brief but also if I don’t name everybody I am sorry haha.
