Hi Meka K, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Taking risks is not so much a role but it correlates to the essentials of learning core values growth wisdom and peace within myself. Being an African-American woman of today in a systematic society, I’ve used senses that I never knew I had. Risk-taking is an inherent aspect of entrepreneurship and can play a crucial role in both personal and professional development. For anyone, including a black single mother managing multiple businesses, taking risks can be both challenging and rewarding. One important risk was betting on myself, thus allowing my gifts to be expressed through being an actress, social media influencer, model, and stylist. I pride myself on learning from those risk factors, and the chances I took to be the woman I am today and to be an inspiration to the everyday woman.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well, as far as my brand I am an African-American single mother who was put here to beat the odds and be an example that you don’t have to follow the standards of the world’s perceptions of how a woman should be. My brands, (OKshecute, and readysetbooktravels) implement self-care, confidence, and style, and help develop the prestigious attitude of a woman. I overcame a divorce that was really detrimental to myself and my son. I didn’t know where or how I was going to make it. I had to pick up and move to another location and start over new. the journey was not easy but I stayed close to God. When I was younger I was told that I was going to be a mogul. In life, you never know how those things are going to come about but it was my challenges that prepared me for the person I am today. I go through challenges so that I can be an inspiration to all.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well I reside in Birmingham, AL, but to name a few hot spots I go to let my hair down;

First I would love to give praise to the most high. Without His grace and mercy, I would not be where I am today, My Father and mother ( Ricky Howard Sr & Carol Howard ) for instilling the necessary tools, and support of how to carry myself and the strong woman that I am. I want to give also a shout to my son Braxton Shealey. He is my “why.” I give my last breathe for my son. Through all the ups and downs he has been my rock. My loving sister Ciara Howard, and my friends Shante Lee and Jeremy Ramsey who also runs BLK NOIZE Inc.
