We had the good fortune of connecting with Keis “KP” Patterson Curator for Blaque Butterfly at Reese Hall and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Keis “KP”, can you tell us about an impactful book you’ve read and why you liked it or what impact it had on you?
Other than the Bible, the standout books that have been an integral part in my life and help move the needle and reshape my life are. 1. The Science of Getting Rich 2. The Richest Man in Babylon 3. As a Man Thinketh.
These 3 books deal with the transformation of thought, planning, faith, and putting in the work (implementation). I had to go back and unlearn and recondition my mind and sub conscious to think that I am worthy to live an abundant life. I also learned that I have to help myself in order to continue helping others in a fashion that does not hurt what my goals and aspirations are.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Blaque Butterfly at Reese Hall is a Event Venue that doubles as a luxury bed and breakfast located just outside of Atlanta, GA in Historic Monticello. Our space is different from others because of our immaculate design, the perfect backdrop for photoshoots, podcasts, and weddings! Our venue features a garden space, a patio area, and rooms with upgraded amenities to ensure your stay is as grand as Blaque Butterfly at Reese Hall. I started this business to fill a need in an area that has plenty of opportunity for growth. My background is in the Healthcare IT as a Project Manager. I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit and drive that leads me to various opportunities. I saw an opportunity that made sense to me and prepared myself to capitalize it, not just for myself, but for the legacy of my family and community. I want the world to know that Blaque Butterfly at Reese Hall is here to make an impact in the event space sector and offer stellar service all while curating your special event.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
In life: I have a Mount Rushmore of People that have helped shaped my life and did not give up on me (Donna Wallace, Dr. Lemuel A. Patterson III, Dr. Patricia A. Patterson, Shirley Martin, Tristan C. Patterson Sr. , Laila K. Patterson, and my lovely fiancé Rohnie D. Williams, NP. These people and more are why I keep pressing forward to become that wise and good man that leaves a legacy to his children’s children.
In business: This list is a long and may not contain every name of an individual that spent time mentoring, shaping, and taking a risk by granting me an opportunity. There are times in your career and life where you come across people that are there to assist in propelling you forward. To name a few names Ron Frieson (COO at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta) who mentored me and assist in devising a plan for career advancement we started with the end in mind and worked the plan backwards , Betty Wade and Robin Pajot (Mgrs at CHOA) who gave me an opportunity to begin as a telephone operator triaging Nurse Calls all the way to Tonya Byrd (IT Project Manager) who gave me an opportunity to volunteer on the Epic Team working in the Command Center answering help desk calls. From there doors were opened for me to become an Epic Consultant starting out as an At The Elbow Support Consultant then eventually becoming a Trainer of MDs and RNs. After Training and earning an Epic Certification I became a Systems Analyst and eventually a Project Coordinator when Erik Hardin and Daniel Grubbs were introduced to me by Brian Powell of The HCI Group. I truly developed as a leader under their guidance and trust. When their tenure was up at NYCHHC I then became an IT Director assuming their responsibilities and duties. I am still on the Project Management side of Healthcare IT to this day and enjoy servicing various Hospitals with their Epic Implementation Efforts. Last but certianly not least, shoutout to The Astute Gentlemen and Neill Bridges who has intoudcued me to multiple Real Estate and Event opporutnities. In addition to teaching me how to obtain excellence in everything that we set our hands to do through consistancy and being persistant in your apporach.
