We had the good fortune of connecting with Milan Respress and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Milan, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
My mom is from Detroit, Michigan. I was born in Georgia but I got to live there for some time as well and Detroit is a big part of me and that’s where half of our family is. My favorite Aunt Jackie lives there too! It gives me so many different views on how life is because living in the city and living in the country are worlds apart!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The credit goes to my Mom! She takes all the chances and goes out and makes things happen as best as she can! We still have a way to go! Nothing is easy about being a kid on the entertainment industry. Having a good support system of friends and family helps me overcome the challenges of rejection.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is confidence goes a long way! Don’t have a big head on your shoulders and remain humble but still have enough confidence so that rejection doesn’t get you down! You’ll be told no 10,000 times before you get a yes and you have to be able to deal with that!

I want the world to know that one day you’ll know my name. I’m small time now but I promise I’ll be a household name!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are so many places to see in Atlanta. I have a full blown list! One place would definitely be Brusters Ice Cream! Really good ice cream in my opinion but I’m a kid so all ice cream is the best!

I really love to visit the Buckhead area and try all of those restaurants but my family loves to try pizza and as many hot wing spots as we can! My mom is a pure wing connoisseur herself! Haha

Centennial Olympic Park is quite beautiful and the water shoots up from and it’s the best! On my list currently to visit is the World of Coca Cola, The Sloomoo Institute, and the Georgia Aquarium for sure!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shout out to my family! They support me in anything and everything I want to do and they always let me know that they are proud of me! I also want to dedicate my shout out to my friends that are in the industry with me! You guys are so encouraging and this business wouldn’t be great without friends to share it with. These people understand what you go through with castings, auditions, and most of all rejection. Having friends makes that part easy and I thank you all for letting me know when I get down that I won’t stay down for long!
