We had the good fortune of connecting with MIkey Franco and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi MIkey, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Emily and I knew we could take some of the issues or downsides to weddings and provide a service that would truly be of value to couples.

Starting our own business was so we could have creative control in how we plan and manage our relationships with the couples.

We are both entrepreneurs at heart and a business that helps bring someone’s wedding to life… doesn’t get much more rewarding than that.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Mosaic Weddings is a wedding planning company that’s defined by its title. We want to take the MANY pieces of your wedding dream and piece them together to create the art piece that is your Mosaic Wedding.

What sets us apart is two fold…

One relatability. Emily and I are in our 20’s and we understand what the trends of weddings are today from the most traditional to the most unique. We don’t have a niche style and never want to. We want to be connected with every couple and every unique style.

The other thing that sets us apart is why we started Mosaic Weddings. A lot of wedding planners start because they got married and loved the process. Others start because they helped their friend once and figured they could do it full time and that’s great. Mosaic Weddings started because we found holes and gaps in the industry and our entire business model is based around filling those. We are a wedding planning company built not for ourselves but for people planning weddings. We have seen the worst and the best version of how this can go and we want you to experience the best.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Tuesday — Start the morning with a run around Chastain Park and wrap up with brunch at the coffee shop located at the park. Dinner @ Velvet Taco for a-little Taco Tuesday and Margs

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I personally would like to shout out Emily Caster. Emily is the lead wedding planner of Mosaic Weddings and is the best wedding planner I’ve ever worked with. She continues to be the foundation of our success.

I would also like to shout out Travis Allen and Joey Russo. To start my professional career I had the honor of sitting in the same room helping run a company with those two entrepreneurship geniuses. From what I learned in that time I should have paid them tuition.
