Meet Chel’le Marie | Singer/Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chel’le Marie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chel’le, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I am inspired by the thought of raising the vibration of the earth. Encouraging and inspiring human beings to be the best version of themselves. To give them hope. Because despite everything I’ve endured throughout my life somehow I still manage to be happy and seeing other people happy makes me happier. God is everything to me and God is love. In order to live in his reflection you have to project love into all that you do. Everything I do is with love. So I guess it is safe to say Love is what inspires me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I was exposed to the entertainment industry at an early age. But I was always focused on school and stability. It was not easy trying to pursue a music career and work jobs. While also trying to live a normal life. It felt like I was always put in a position to have to choose. It wasn’t’t until recently that I felt like it was time for me to fully commit to my solo career.
I started as a songwriter for Universal Music Group. I was on American Idol, The Voice, and Chasing Destiny. After all of those experiences I came to realize reality tv was not for me. At least not in that sense. But I was appreciative of the experience it gave me.
On top of everything else that tried to deter me, I had to deal with being a woman in this industry. It was difficult and at times discouraging but I always tried to remain strong and remember what I wanted and who I was. I’ve learned that as long as you truly believe in yourself you will be just fine. Spend time with yourself and try your best to get to know what you like and what you’re comfortable with and don’t let anyone make you uncomfortable. Always keep your cool and act with integrity no matter what type of situation may arise and you will come out on top.
You can not trust everybody and it is always better to be missed than to overstay your welcome. Always know when to leave. Lastly, when you are dealing with someone and they try to take advantage of you take the high road. But know that taking the high road does not mean allow the disrespect to go unaddressed. Just address it in a manner that is safe for you and professional. Boundaries will be your best friend.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of my favorite spots in the city would have to be Johnnys chicken and waffles. I have to go to Lenox mall every time I’m home. I have to go to Silverspot theatre and Escobars.
I’m really a homebody, but If I go out it’s usually to a mall or to eat. lol I’m a foody. I love riding scooters around downtown Atlanta and going to the Aquarium.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to thank the people that were there for me in my time of need. If I did not have them I do not know where I would have ended up.
