We had the good fortune of connecting with Jiami Liang and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a good storyteller, and my vehicle for storytelling is my work. In these works, I usually use some comic techniques to express my pictures. This way of creation adds more storytelling to my works, and this unique viewing experience is also the excitement of my creation. . Art creation has never been easy. Although I am happy to create, it takes a lot of preparation and practice to create works that meet my expectations. This process is both difficult and exciting. I think this is the charm of art creation . I’m not an optimistic person, I always find some cruel and absurd reality, so I feel confused and uneasy about the future of this world, but I don’t want to be depressed because of this and I don’t want to make people around me depressed. The world is not perfect, but because of its imperfection, people need art. My motivation for creating is to make fun of some very realistic and cruel facts through my works, so that people living in this imperfect world can have more laughter and entertainment, and live a more active life without forgetting those real problems at the same time.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Atlanta Botanical Garden，I would recommend them to the Atlanta Botanical Garden, it’s a wonderful place, it makes you forget you’re living in a big city. Atlanta Botanical Garden is a fairy tale world isolated from the world, as if it were Alice’s dream. I will often go to this beautiful place to find inspiration and relax, you know the greenery is always relaxing.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout to Japanese manga artist Taiyō Matsumoto, he is an artist. Comics and stories are his creative tools. He uses these two tools to let the audience enter the absurd and interesting world he created. His works inspire me a lot.
