We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaida Hall and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jaida, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
The single most important decision that I made that contributed to my success is deciding to go to law school. Although my business has done well in the past few years, I know that going to law school would only allow me to expand even more.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Three years ago I created Sculpted by Elise, a fitness clothing brand for both men and women. What makes Sculpted different from other brands is how I create the clothing. The logo, an hourglass, is exactly how I create my clothing to shape women bodies. Every pair of shorts and leggings are tapered to give women the hourglass shape we all desire. I know other brands create similar designs, so I knew I had to add something else that would set me a part from them. All pieces have two- four pockets that are large enough to fit the largest I-Phone. Sometimes anything that is high waisted is uncomfortable on women stomachs, so Each piece is made with the softest fabric on the market. Knowing that I take pride in the fabric I choose and know that it’s the highest quality you can get is what I am most proud of. Although my business does well. things are not always easy. There are slow months from time to time, and the only thing I can do to overcome the challenges is to keep going. That is also the biggest lesson I have learned along the way; just keep going even when you can’t see what’s next.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First, I would take my friend to Ponce Market to relax and shop at some of the small businesses in the area. If we wanted to grab some food for lunch we would go to Surrins, one of the best Thai food restaurants in the city. If we wanted to go out and adventure we would catch a Hawks game or support our WNBA team, the Atlanta Dream.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First, I would like to shoutout my mom. My mom has been my number one supporter all my life, and I know she will continue to support me with whatever I want to do. I also need to shoutout both of my trainers who have taught me the ins and outs of the fitness industry.
