We had the good fortune of connecting with Sasha Rose and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sasha, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
My favorite quote is “Dreams Don’t Have Deadlines!” -LL Cool J

I feel like we are conditioned to rush! Conditioned that in this industry of choice (fashion & styling) if you don’t start at a younger age then you won’t be as established or successful.

I am here to say how inaccurate that is! I am in my early 30s and didn’t get serious about this career aka dream of choice until my late 20s.

In fact, i believe that my age played a huge part in the different paths I’ve been able to experience without making as many mistakes that I may have potentially made if I was younger with not as much wisdom, common sense or integrity.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I categorize my art as fashion & wardrobe styling. I like to assist my clients with expressing themselves through & making a statement via their look of choice. Most importantly I want them to feel unapologetic & confident within themselves while doing it as well.

This journey most definitely hasn’t been easy! Even still i have days that the only person who can remove any discouragement and give me comfort that I’m right on target being God!

I literally took a chance on myself, with no real knowledge and experience! That to date is one of the things I’m most proud of because i started & finished my fashion education and it’s taken me places I’d never thought I would be. In rooms with people I’d never thought I’d see, let alone interact with.

Life is precious & we need to take advantage of every moment! Especially when it’s involving our futures & living out our dreams!

Lessons I’ve learned is to not be so trusting, ri not think that everybody had your best interest just because they say they do. I’ve experienced a lot of challenges involving integrity of ppl who I had expectations from.. which leads me to my next point. Do not hand expectations of ppl.. take them for who they are & who they show you the first time.

Always stand on business & always protect your brand.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First stop is always ZAXBYS! Then I’d find an art museum or schedule a walk through at the Ivy showroom or a similar place. Then we would grab a drink at Cru lounge and walk Edgewood to mingle. As creatives i would just want to be wherever the artsy vibes are.

Next day brunch is a must at Toast on Lenox, then shopping at Phipps center after.

I’m all for experiences so I would again love to find either concerts, or a paint and sip. Something interactive with other likeminded individuals.

Honestly it’s so much to do in Atlanta i could type all day!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this feature to my mentor & her organization/school. Misa Hylton & The Misa Hylton Fashion Academy.

Single handedly my life has been transitioned to heights I can’t even began to describe because of herself & the alumni who have assisted in my journey taking a chance on me!

Thank You! I’m forever grateful!
