Meet Kandie Marie | Author, poet, and entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kandie Marie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kandie, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor is my team! As an author my publishing team keeps me going, for the KANDIEY Shoppe my brand ambassadors and vixens especially my head office really keep me together and always finding ways for us and myself to elevate. Honorary mention to my someone special who keeps me on my toes and has been a muse and so supportive.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Kandie Marie as a brand represents poetry and literature that speaks to everyone. I believe in taking people on a journey through my literary works. Rather if it excites you sexually, makes you believe in love again, taking you on a roller coaster of emotions. My literary works are a safe space to escape from every day and enjoy. Now the KandieyShoppe LLC, we provide people a place to let their hair down. Be who they are. We strive on everyone knowing they are beautiful and can release sex appeal. Being sexy is not just a look it’s how you walk, talk, how you carry yourself.
The one thing I am most proud of overall is the way I have continued and continue to this day to constantly keep going even when I feel hopeless, not good enough, I keep finding a way to bounce back.
None of this has been easy. I’ve had a lot of obstacles professionally and personally and everyone of them had me down for a second then I got back up. The biggest lesson I learn every day is to count on me and never give up!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am currently in charlotte. I love going out to the Noda area. The people, the little boutiques, and the bars/pubs in that area are always such a vibe and great place to network.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a huge shout out to my kids, my sisters, my special person, the whole KSLLC and RWP fam. To anyone who has supported me especially my readers I love them all so much and over appreciate them.
