We had the good fortune of connecting with Darnique and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Darnique, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I am from the greatest place on earth -NEW YORK CITY!!
Southside Jamaica Queens, to be exact. I grew up in a Caribbean household and I believe my upbringing has impacted the person I am today. My parent’s has instilled morals and values, and has taught me that nothing is handed to you. Hardwork pays off!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I created and the easy going spirit I have-which makes it easy to have conversations with people. This space is created for the folks who want to discuss the topics adults tend to dance around. It is my mission to motivate, uplift, and inspire young adults during these challenging times. The best part about this podcast is that you’ll hear from others going through similar experiences as yourself – which means there’s someone who shares the same exact sentiments as you. These past few years, I found myself in a bad place, and listening to things that poured life into me such as sermons, podcasts, music, and going to therapy helped put my life back on track. I found that through one sentimental conversation, you’d learn quickly that not only are others going through the same things as you, but also, there’s nothing to be gained from hiding your pain. Hence, The Vulnerable Room™. While tapping into my creative side, I furthered my education in graduate school. I completed my Master’s program in Health Administration and I am currently in the process of furthering my career. Yes, I work a 9-5 but content creating creates peace for me
and I enjoy it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my bestie was visiting me, I would have a girls night. I love to sip on some wine, champagne or prosecco with my favorite snacks and meal. I would definitely be dinning in or if I am not too tired from preparations, I would cook a little somethin’ somethin’ lol. Next day, I would take my bestie to brunch or dinner at a popular spot- preferably soul food or Mexican food for some amazing food and drinks! I love “The South” restaurant in Philly or Bleu Martini for a great vibe. I am still learning the area, so I would definitely utilize TikTok to
find some dope places to check out.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Hmmm that’s so hard to just shout out one person. I would like to shoutout the Man above and my village because without them I wouldn’t be the person I am today. Each person that I hold near and dear to my heart has motivated and supported me in the monumental moments of my life. They have all seen me through the good, bad, and the ugly and never judged me for it. I thank God for the strength He has given me because putting yourself out there and trying new things can be so scary. But with His strength, I can do ALL things! Periodt! lol
