Meet Yilin Li | Illustrator & Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Yilin Li and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yilin, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Art is a very interesting field. For me, art can have any possibility, it can be abstract or figurative. It can be happy, sad, explosive or quiet. Art can express what the artist wants to express through images or body language or even melodies, and it is an interesting bridge between the artist and the audience. Therefore, for me, art is a way to explore the world.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Although I’m an illustrator, I don’t want to constrain my development. For example, I will also do some fine art creation or do some graphic design projects. I enjoy and feel a sense of accomplishment when I extend my work from multiple angles. In this process, I think persistence and passion are the driving forces that support me.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my friends come I would recommend them to go to Savannah’s beaches. The beach is a place where people can have a picnic, play beach volleyball, and sit and chat. The beach is also a place where people can relax and enjoy the blue sky, sunshine and breeze.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I think for me, many people or things in life have an impact on me. For example, the sun in the morning, the rainy street, the smile of a stranger. Or the novels I read in my spare time, the encouragement of my friends, the wonderful movies, all these are the motivation to support me to move forward.
