Meet Artinka Teaira | Singer, Writer, & Lyricist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Artinka Teaira and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Artinka, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I think the most important factor behind my current success is that I’m humble and I am who I portray to be. I’m the artist that wants to take pictures with her supporters, I respond to EVERYONE as long as it’s not derogatory of course, I’m that artist that will have a full blown convo with you. I know when I become a bigger artist it’ll be hard to do so but it means alot to me to be able to talk to and connect with those that take a liking to my artistry. That’s how I learned my target market. I’m all about making your supporters feel INCLUDED, I can’t do this without them. My personality is who I really am behind closed doors, I love helping people and my music allows me to heal through song. It’s also the reason I became a nurse. Your character is EVERYTHING and it’s the deciding factor of whether or not someone will spin your song again or even attend another concert. My parents raised me right. You give the janitor the same respect you give the CEO.. Positions don’t matter in my world. I treat everyone accordingly. I love my supporters they made all of this possible.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I actually started doing poetry before I started doing music. I started my music career in 2017 after a bad break up. A cousin of mine named Bri Lachelle wrote me a song about my breakup and gave it to me. I sat down and listened to it, tweaked it a bit – made it my own and recorded it. It went on to be my supporters favorite song. I then released my first single written solely by me entitled “No Face, No Case” which would go on to be the leading single of my first album “I’m Here Now” that I would release in the fall of 2018. I got over 30k streams in 5 months on that single alone before my album was released – I was stunned – Pretty good for a local artist. Since then I have released 1 album, 1 mixtape, 3 eps, 2 singles, and 3 videos. All done independently. I think what sets me apart from other artists is my artistry. It’s different. I sing from a real place, not made up fantasies. My music is relatable, I guarantee you felt the way I felt at some point or another – Hence one of my favorite songs “Love Got Me Eff’d Up”…..Sometimes love can REALLY do that to you lol, I got a song for that. I’m real and so is my music. Im also a lyricist so I rap as well. I’ve learned that being TOO humble will hurt you. I spent the better part of my career dealing with a lot of upsets and letting people get away with things they shouldn’t have. I learned how to be humble with a kick. Don’t let nobody play with you, That doesn’t mean you have to get violent, curse, etc – You just have to be clear on what you will and will not accept – and you BETTA know your worth or they’ll define it for you. I just want the world to know I’m not your average artist! I want to heal the world through song and just share my gift- I feel like good music heals the heart and soul. Music makes the world go round. Imagine life without it….Neither can I!! That means no theme songs to our favorite shows like Martin, Living Single, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air…..Like imagine that! My brand is Artinka Teaira Entertainment – I’m here to bring you laughter, fun, smiles, healing, love, and REAL – I want you to be able to tune into my music and Relate – Heal – And REPEAT!! I just want to share my gift 🙂

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Sooo if my Best Friend was visiting – Hopefully it’s a Wednesday – I would first take them to breakfast at either. Denny’s or Cracker Barrel (My Favorite). After, We would go for a massage at Zulma’s out in westlake! Head to my place for a quick nap! Lunch at Applebees so that we can grab drinks . After that we could visit our beautiful Aquarium in downtown Cleveland!! Later that night after we change into our night gear, dinner is at 5 points grille managed by my Aunt Nedra out in Richmond Heights which also hosts Karaoke with Tina & You – The karaoke host also happens to be my Auntie :)! We would sing the night away and have some wings or chicken alfredo or salmon nuggets (the bomb) or some cajun chicken rolls!! They also have two bars located inside so DRINKS and bomb music it is!!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
