We had the good fortune of connecting with Ludmila Harrison and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ludmila, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Drive to perfection! I suspect answer lies in the idea of continual learning . You have to love what you do and put your whole heart into it, all your creative fantasies and God given abilities. My perspective is that without growth, without forced transformation, we experience stagnation, and it prevents us from living a full and rich life. I always love to create something new, painting, drawing, writing short stories, knitting…learning new Language, new challenges, maybe because of that I loved Mathematics in school and University when I attended. Also I love to travel!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a world traveler! I like to paint oil and watercolor landscapes and places I visit on my numerous trips. Paintings that take you to places you want to be. Places that remind us of a slower pace of life and simple pleasures. One of my motivations to paint is a desire to share my experiences as well as the beauty surrounding us, stimulating us, and inspiring us. Stories of transformations inspire me, the idea of following a patch of curiosity, not be afraid to try new things, and listen to your heart! Born and raised in Russia, graduating Moscow University, teaching students in colleges, raised my own children, emigrating to US , learning new Languages, facing new challenges at every step of the way….I’ve discovered that in almost every case of major transformation, it was driven by exposure to something new. New challenges stimulate us to try new things. Innovation, new ideas, new stories, new art come from transformation. I want the world to know that I always love LIFE, my family, my friends, and people! I always believe in the best in people! LOVE and BEAUTY will save the world!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First of all, one of my teachers in school knowing my abilities always pushed me out of my comfort zone to new challenges. She planted seeds of curiosity and perfection! I also want to mention my husband who is always supportive and encouraging! My art friends, art instructors and especially Kathy Rennel Forbes, who is very inspirational and a great roll model, truly beautiful Human being!
