We had the good fortune of connecting with Rosalind Cabbell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rosalind, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I was born and raised in Toledo, OH and relocated to ATL in 2009. When you come from where I’m from you literally have to get it out of the mud. As a retiring Army Reserve Veteran of 23 years and also working as a Department of Defense Civilian for the past 22 years; I’ve always thought outside of the box and wanted to “be all that I could be”; especially for my children. In 2011 I published my first book titled, “The Secret First Lady.” Which was written under my maiden name “Rose Bush.” Fast forward to 2022. I’ve turned my book into a script and I recently, produced and starred in my first feature film. The Secret First Lady is expected to start streaming the top of 2023. I also have a movie premiere in Ohio on Jan 14, 2023. Prior to filming I completed real estate school and obtained my license as well as attended acting class; all while working full time as a DOD civilian and Army Reservist. I recently joined the New Vision Real Estate Firm and also partnered with Smith Financial as a tax preparer. There’s that Army Slogan again; “Be all you can be.”

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Many people ask how I do so much at once and honestly to me it’s not a lot; it’s not enough. There’s 24 hours in a day, I believe in making every second count. I’m creating a legacy; I’m breaking generational curses. My goal is to ensure my children’s children eat from the seeds I sow. I want to be in a position to help others. Some days are harder than others, but I don’t give up; I might bend, but I’ll never break. I think one lesson I’ve learned along the way is that as bad as I want to; you really cannot help everyone. In business if someone is not emotionally mature enough or doesn’t possess the necessary competence it may be very difficult to partner with them. I believe in the I over E rule, intelligence over emotions. I believe this is why a lot of businesses and partnerships fail. But I digress.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Honestly, I’m more of a homebody, but I love Caribbean foods, sushi, and soul food; so if the reviews and food is good, I’m there.

I’m not really big on clubs but I enjoy a good lounge from time to time. I love traveling; that’s when I’ll make a few exceptions.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
For the most part, my entire family is dope and supportive, from my mom down to my aunts and cousins. But my children, Raylynn, Rya, and Royal are definitely my motivators. I had to complete ever task I started, because giving up would’ve been like quitting on them. My sister Rashonda has always been positive and supportive and actually is one of my co-executive producers on my film. My uncle David has also been my rock and my backbone my entire life. He plays my father in my film. The list can go on and on; but these are the people who love and support me unconditionally.
