We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley E. Cullen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley E., what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Well, I’ve always known in my chest that I’m meant for something big, then one day it just clicked in my head and I knew what my heart beats for. Once the realization hit me, nothing else seemed fulfilling. I just knew… it’s not just a business, Model CityZen is a whole global movement.

I want to be the person I needed in my bullied years in school that triggered my limited thinking and insecurities. I use my journey from low self-esteem to 6-time cover model to help youth and womxn realize the simple, TRUE path to unlocking the ability to overcome insecurities and soar into their unique passions with strength. I restore womxn to their unique greatness they were created to stand in. The feeling of freely pursuing and building MY dream is so enriching and the human race would greatly advance if we all were encouraged to pursue it.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Model CityZen packs the unapologetic passion of a self-love journey from 0 strength to 6 magazine covers (currently) into mentoring that yanks womxn of all shapes on their feet and stepping into their best feeling self- inside and out regardless of size. In this truly unique, society-revolutionizing brand with proven results to deeply inspire, we reframe our uniqueness and free our restricted thinking to better internalize life’s challenges and light the path to balancing inner peace while confidently striding forward toward your life’s purpose. 

After igniting the inner energy, I build momentum by bringing clients into their best looking and feeling self via trauma-transcending life lessons from my personal journey and 10+ year modeling career. My additional topics range from optimizing your personal care, feeling confident in photos and movement, dressing for confidence in any environment or size, understanding your unique metabolic health/fitness, cancer-stopping foods, and a LOT more. These are things everyone deserves to know. Model CityZen recenters society’s perception of beauty by highlighting the EXPRESSION and value placed on self-love, individuality, confidence and quirks in the world’s most visually-critiqued industry, Fashion.

I then apply my industry-leading product marketing skills to help womxn identify and attract their unique audience with a winning go-to-market strategy to bring their passion to life.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’ve been a pretty quality hermit since I’ve been building my empire. But when I do get out the undeniable MUST VISITS are:

1. Jeju Sauna & Wellness Center in Duluth for it’s amazing ability to help people leave feeling so much better than when they arrived inside and out plus melt away insecurities if done properly.

2. Marietta Diner because gee whiz is it the whole shebang!!!

3. Whitewater Creek Trail… amazing waterfront dog park with hiking, water sports, and meeting people.

4. Fetch Dog Park… great for pups and socializing.

5. Natural escapes like Red Top, Blue Ridge, Kennesaw Mountain, Silver Comet Trail and a really pretty one I’m forgetting cuz I haven’t been there yet 

6. The Roof in Ponce City Market

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am grateful to the bullies I delt with for creating a passion so deep in me to uplift and ignite people into their unique greatness. I now know what it’s like to make heart money every day and paper money on top.

I am so grateful to the Gratitude Room in the #GETUPNGROW Club on Clubhouse for giving people across the globe a space to speak their strength through any challenges that come their way, for the safe space to support and encourage each other through it, and for always uplifting my energy and strength. You truly meet peoples’ hearts before their face or profession.

I am so grateful for Marissa Fonda for her tremendous part in helping cultivate the growth and energy of Model CityZen with her beautiful spirit and vision.

Big Shoutout to Gina Skelton, Nicole Puckerin, and Crystal Almeida of the Mom Link as well as all the amazing women of this beautiful organization they created of women authentically supporting women in entrepreneurship.
