We had the good fortune of connecting with Ximena Vega and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ximena, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want my legacy to be about knowing that we deserve love, I want to help people understand that you don’t have to settle for less. And that all that starts with loving yourself and prioritizing yourself. I want people to remember me for being so persistent with everything I do, since I was a kid I’ve never taken “no” for an answer, I fight and work for what I want no matter how impossible it seems or feels.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Well I’m a Mexican model, very dedicated and passionate about my craft.
There’s nothing that makes me more happy than creating art in every form, acting, modelling, art direction, cooking, gaming and streaming, fashion and style. I do a lot, I even dabble in music. But I would say the biggest two are acting and modelling.
I’ve worked with names such as Raptors, Kappa, Director X, Universal, Disney, WB, Netflix and more.
What sets me apart from others is my story and who I’ve decided to become after all the chaos I’ve lived through.
I got to where I am professionally by hard work and consistency.
It wasn’t easy but I can’t say I didn’t enjoy it, I enjoy the process and fall in love with it so everything becomes easier and goes smoothly.
The most valuable lesson and my secret is to love the goal so much that the challenge becomes irrelevant. If you love what you do and enjoy the process for what it is, you’re never going to give up. So if you’re not in love with your work you should reconsider and find something you truly love!
I want the world to remember that the rough times will always bring lessons,
A piece of advice is that you start looking at life a different way when things happen.
Instead of reacting, try to ask yourself
what is this trying to teach me? What can be learned from this? How can this benefit my growth? In order to become your best highest self.
A bit of my story is
I don’t really advertise it but I went through domestic violence at 17 and lived with a man who tried to groom me. And this is something that happens often in México (where I’m from). Most part of the Mexican culture is (or was) based in sexism and misogyny. The woman is meant to take care of children and cook and clean, while the man goes out to work.
Mexican culture also established that men are not allowed to have feelings and they have to “man up” like a real “macho” reason why our men are so repressed emotionally and end up being resented towards women hence why there’s so many feminicides at the moment (at least 10 women die every day out of hate crimes, passion crimes and domestic violence)
So imagine growing up through this and still becoming someone who wants to shine a light on everyone’s life. It’s exhausting but it somehow feels like it’s my nature and it makes me happy.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mother. Because she has been there every step of the way. She’s such an inspiration to me, a strong powerful woman. Who has gone through hell and back just to give me and my sister the best and she seems to have done an amazing job keeping us humble and grounded. So I just wanna say gracias ma. Also a big shout out to my sister for always being there for me when I need her, she doesn’t know it but she’s saved my life multiple times and I’m incredibly grateful for her. I couldn’t have asked for a better sister and I will fight anyone about her.
