We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex Trotter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alex, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
All my life I have loved creating things. It started when I was younger and would draw for hours a day. As I got older, I realized the realm of creating was much bigger than I realized. I got into camera work and immediately fell in love with it. I realized I couldn’t sit at a desk job my whole life and wanted to do something I loved so that’s when I decided to pursue a career in creative media. My faith is also a huge part of my life. I believe that God is the ultimate creator and that we are created in His image. By creating things myself, I am reflecting The Creator and giving Him glory. This is truly what I desire to do throughout my creative career.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think what sets me apart most from others is the personal attention to detail of each individual film and photo I create. On each shoot, I make sure that no detail goes unnoticed, especially in the editing process. I’m most proud of the final videos I create. It’s a beautiful and hard process of planning, shooting, and editing, but once you see the final product it makes all the hard work so worth it. It’s been a hard journey to get where I am today professionally, and honestly, I’m nowhere close to where I’d like to be, but I’m making steps to get there and am still proud of how far I’ve come. Most of my growth has been done by myself, but I’ve had some amazing people that have helped me along the way with the business side of things, especially my father. I was able to overcome many of the challenges I faced through the wise counsel of those around me and those who were farther into their businesses than I was. I’d like the world to know that behind my business, there is a very hardworking, passionate, individual who cares deeply about every project. That it’s more than just a business for me.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely take them down to ponce city in Atlanta, that is a classic spot! One of my favorite spots to go is the GPB Parking deck in ATL, you can see the entirety of the city from there. Next couple of days I’d probably take them on a trip to the blue ridge mountains to go see some waterfalls and then up to blue ridge parkway. Definitely would have to stop by Wander North Georgia on the way up to Blue Ridge as well. I love to travel, so that is a lot of what we would probably be doing!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, I’d like to shout out my Heavenly Father for gifting me with creativity and for continually providing for me in all areas of my life. Without His grace, I would not be where I am today. I’d also like to shout out my dad for continuing to help me run my media business, encouraging me along the way, and even helping provide work for me when I was first starting out.
