We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittney Young and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittney, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I first started my own catering company, my primary focus was on creating my path. I wanted to have the freedom of my own business and work to establish a name for myself in the culinary industry. After graduating from culinary school and working in restaurants for four years, I knew the restaurant scene wasn’t something that I saw myself doing for the rest of my life. I needed change and the ability to be creative freely. Food has always been a passion for me! I’ve always enjoyed cooking and watching people enjoy the dishes I created. In deciding what kind of business I wanted, catering was the first thing that came to mind. After only cooking for close family and friends, I started a catering company, Sensual Kitchen, and haven’t had any regrets.

What should our readers know about your business?
Part of what makes me different is the fact that I’m an artistic chef. The saying goes, ” You eat with your eyes first,” and I take that literal. I set myself apart by making food that is artistically appealing to people! When I started my catering business, it was a personal goal to provide quality service and food to every customer. I take pride in what I do!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love to try different food! The Atlanta food festival is a great spot to visit for trying different food. I would also suggest Atlanta Breakfast club, Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint and Sri Thai Kitchen and Sushi Bar.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Whew! Some so many people deserve a shout out for the support they have shown me. Firstly I would like to thank my mother, who has supported my dreams since the beginning. I would also like to thank every individual who supported my business in every way. Whether it was booking my services or buying a product or simply reposting my post and telling others about my business, I truly appreciate it!
