We had the good fortune of connecting with Masiana Geter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Masiana, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I’ve always had a love for candles and smell goods. My mama and nana always had candles and incenses burning throughout the house growing up, so I ended up developing a love for them too. In January of 2021 I was diagnosed with Covid-19 and I lost my smell for 6 months!! It felt like I had lost it forever. Us humans tend to be unappreciative of things until we loose it. I still had a love for candles but it was boring just watching a candle burn and I couldn’t smell it. I then had a idea on how i can keep candles from looking so “Boring” or “Plain” I felt all candles looked the same and I wanted to be different! Who doesn’t love the smell of desserts?

What should our readers know about your business?
Hitchcock Candles and Company Is a bakery inspired candles business. We have Cupcake candles, Parfaits, cookies, and all kinds of pastries, but remember “Burn it, Don’t bite it” We not only offer Extraordinary Masterpieces, but our candles are also vegan which means it’s great for the environment and helps with a clean burn of the candle.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shout out and thank every single person who has purchased from my business or even just told a friend/ family about us. I’m beyond grateful to have such amazing customers that support my dream. Another big shoutout is to My husband Mario, My Mother Bernita Hitchcock, and one of her great friends Stacy Powers for believing in me and investing in my passion.
