Meet Christa Boyd | Lifestyle photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Christa Boyd and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christa, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor is the support around me along with the determination to succeed. I wouldn’t have been half the photographer I am if my family and friends didn’t encourage me to get out there and pursue this dream. I have thought about it ever since flip phones had cameras. I have just always had a passion for it and everyone’s encouraging words really kept me going on the hard days! Also, as a mother I knew I wanted to succeed in order to provide a better life for my son. I built my business name around my sons name as a daily reminder that everything I do for this business is for him.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I like to consider myself a lifestyle photographer. I love to capture the real and raw moments between people. I’ve been told what sets me apart the most is the ability to make my clients feel extremely comfortable in front of my camera and the way I edit photos to make them in between moody and light. Out of all the things I’m most proud of, it would be the fact that in one year I have taken my photography from nothing to almost 2.3k people. It was extremely hard and I spent many nights up late trying to find new places to take photos or editing a gallery until all hours of the night. I also found that even though it was hard it was rewarding because hearing how much a client loves their gallery or finding a beautiful place to take pictures, is what it’s all about. I have definitely learned at this point that photography is an art and some people might not like your style of editing and that’s okay. I have also learned that I’m my biggest critic and that I am where I am because I’m good at this and I need to give myself more credit. I think the biggest thing I want people to know about me is that I strive to make sure that my clients are comfortable, feel relaxed, and leave their session saying that they enjoyed the experience. Getting your picture taken shouldn’t be hard work for the client. I hope I can continue to help people feel confident, beautiful, and make them feel like I captured who they are.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to the Atlanta aquarium or zoo during the day. I love to walk around and explore so walk Atlantic station and enjoy the Georgia weather. Then I’d take them to rays on the River for them to eat some amazing seafood!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The people in my life that that I want to specifically call out for being essential to my success is my son, River, my mom, my dad and my two sisters. All of them have encouraged, loved, and supported me through all the struggles of starting my own business. My parents bought my equipment when starting because they believed in my success and now that I have paid that back and can reflect on it, they are the reason my business went to the next level. I’m very lucky to have the support I do.
