We had the good fortune of connecting with Lydia Teta and Nicole Musoni and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lydia and Nicole, why did you pursue a creative career?
The artistic and creative path has always been what makes the most sense for the both of throughout our lives. No matter the fields we were previously in, we always found a way to dabble into our respective creative sides. So combining our passion was ultimately an organic choice for us

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Binteji (which means ‘vintage’ in Japanese) was born from 2 passionate black women with a common Love for fashion and a desire to create a way to give our community access to the vintage world that has long been foreign for many.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Montreal is such a melting pot of cultures and flavors so you’re sure to find something for everyone’s taste. That being said here’s a few of our faves

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We dedicate our shoutout to our Binteji squad! Without the many ways of support our tribe has shown us we wouldn’t be where we are today. They’re more than just customers or clients to us, we’re so humbled to say that we have created a true sense of community with our brand. It’s bigger than us!
