We had the good fortune of connecting with Courtney McKnight and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Courtney, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
Everything requires work and dedication. I’ve always known that, but starting a business to me made it real life if that makes sense. I also learned firsthand your family and friends aren’t going to be your biggest supporters, it’s always going to be strangers. I make it my personal mission to meet at least 10-15 new potential clients a day. I’m dedicated to seeing my business succeed at the highest level. If the product isn’t right I take a step back and look for a better solution. I’m always working on something different for the business.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I currently work full time in Urology. When I’m not at work I’m a caregiver to my 91 year Grandmother who is currently suffering from dementia. Throw in running a small cosmetics business and you could say I’m a busy girl. The biggest and most important lesson is BALANCE!!! You have to learn how to balance life, because it’s going to happen whether you’re prepared or not. Staying focused and having proper organization is the best way for me to stay in balance and on task.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Hmmm…..if we’re in my small city of Covington we’d probably go to Sudo it’s a cute lounge in the area. We would definitely be eating in midtown at Real Tacos. A cute little dinner downtown somewhere my favorite restaurant currently is Osha Thai and Sushi. We would check out another favorite of mine Views another lounge, and of course on Sundays you know we brunch so I’d take them to Bermuda a restaurant lounge with amazing food and good vibes.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Jerrica Islam. My sister and friend she has travel agent company. Literally one of the best around, and I’m not being biased here. She also has a full time job, she holds it down being a wife, an entrepreneur, and working a 9-5.
