We had the good fortune of connecting with Caitlin Hunt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Caitlin, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I was tired of feeling unfulfilled.

I wanted to do something to make a living for myself involving the things that I’m passionate about.

I love social media and the way that it allows us to connect and engage with people from anywhere in the world.

I love clothes and I especially love unique hard to find pieces. Add in my love for nature and being a virtual sustainable fashion stylist and clothing reseller just made sense.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is SpinDaBlock Shop, LLC. It’s a sustainable fashion brand offering pre-loved and new vintage and modern clothing and accessories. I also offer personal shopping, styling and social media/ brand development coaching.

Our clientele is located in 30 states so far and Canada.

I started my business on April 25, 2021 and 3 weeks later my father passed away. His name was Jim Hunt and he was an entrepreneur offering custom clothes for business professionals. It was a hard transition for a very long time to keep going with my business. But, my business became my therapy and I see a lot of my Dad in myself. I was able to grow to 11,000 supporters on Instagram in one year and launch my website www.SpinDaBlockShop.com.

I got to where I am today by being consistent with my merchandise, communication and branding.

I want the world to know that sustainable fashion is not a trend, but a lifestyle. The best dressed people understand.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite place to go in the city is Red Pepper on a Tuesday or Thursday for $5 margaritas. The atmosphere is always on point and they have the best nachos in the city.

If you’re trying to turn up, this is still the world’s home of strip clubs. Hit up Blue Flame or Magic City.

On your down time you def have to check out a thrift store or two. My thrift list will be launching soon. Follow me on Instagram @spindablockshop to get updated on the launch of the list to find the best places for $5 Christian Louboutins, Gucci, and beyond!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shoutout to my man, Chris Fenderson II, also known as Chef Fendo.

He is the best chef in the game catering to professional athletes and anyone that loves to eat good food.

He offers personal chef, meal prep, and private event experiences. He’s a Navy Veteran and earned his Bachelors from Johnson & Wales. Check him out on Instagram @yescheffendo.
