We had the good fortune of connecting with Chanerya Rowland and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chanerya, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
The most important thing I’ve done as a parent, I feel like is me allowing my children to speak up and out about the things that they feel. When I was growing up, I wasn’t allowed to speak up about how I felt or how someone made me feel because i would be looked at as if I was “talking back” or “being grown” when it reality things, situations, words that was expressed to me, wasn’t allowed to have a REACTION! That’s why some of us grew up, feeling rejected or as if we didnt matter or the things we felt wasn’t important. I’m breaking that generational curse!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a minister and also a published author. I would’ve never thought I’ll actually be a minister. Maybe, a motivational speaker. I wouldn’t trade it, for anything in the world though, because GOD’s will is always better than mine. The feeling I have gotten from being in tune with God and myself is something that I really can’t explain, but what I would express is that I would love for others who don’t know themselves deeply, to seek him. I’ve learned so many lessons, I’ve overcame so many obstacles, and they were all worth it. No regrets.

Once upon a time, I didn’t love me. I didn’t feel worth it. I didn’t feel as beautiful as others may say I was and by that I mean mentally and emotionally, not physically. Don’t let that go over your head. It’s deeper than surface. I lost custody of my son, I lost myself, I lost friends, I lost family members, but it all made me who I am today on this journey. I realize things that I didn’t know about ME! I feel as if every situation, every trial, every tribulation that you’re up against its just a a season to mold you into who GOD has called you to be. We all have a purpose.

I found GOD and that is what saved me.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely say downtown Atlanta, there is also a lot of good foods to taste, very elegant atmosphere.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to GOD. I found him during the pandemic, he made me realize things about myself. He made me look deeper into who he called me to be. No one gets the glory, but that man above, GOD! I’m grateful.
