We had the good fortune of connecting with Valenciago and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Valenciago, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I started my business I knew I wanted to perform beauty services on women to be a part of the industry that gives us as women the most exposure. I am all for anything or any product that enhances our natural beauty and just you know, gives us confidence to be all that we are individually!

I wanted to be totally self employed and what I knew was that I needed multiple streams of income within the industry to achieve that. I wanted to be at the open and honest about my own existence so I put myself into my business and in a way I sell pieces of me! Urs Truly, Valenciago! 🙂

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
In 2018 I started a new chapter in my life and I made a promise to myself to take care of myself above all. I quickly learned that self-love was the quickest way to a self sufficient way of life. I picked a few things that made me my unique self and I knew those things would leave an impact.

I chose beauty & music!

I learned to do lashes, brows, and all about about skin care and I tapped back into doing hair……started and finished cosmetology school & this birthed the entrepreneurial lifestyle I live.

All this made time for me to creatively tap back into my music and work on my craft, I am a singer songwriter and music is my world. Everything that makes me who I am, it all dances on a rhythm. It’s own rhythm….

I’m a full time mom so I was limited on time but I knew my children would be along for the ride and would benefit from all my hard work, so if anything,…I knew quitting wasn’t an option because I was able to move around for them without anyone putting a time limit on my availability to be a mom,

I created a line of cosmetics ranging from matte foundation to matte lipsticks…..liners and beauty blenders…..I literally have all the essentials and I’m a woman so that’s a plus! 🙂

Once I secured my cosmetic line and beauty company, Urs Truly Cosmetics & Beauty Co., I released my music! I released my first single on all platforms in September 2021 and performed my music in front of a few important people…. I’ve gotten some motion for myself and I couldn’t be more happy about it! I’ve overcome so much!

My brand is literally everything about me available at your fingertips!

You get a piece of me in every product & everytime you hear my music, you know it’s me!

I learned to take the time your given and use it wisely. Every moment not seized is gone so whatever it is, DO IT NOW! Whatever it is that gets you closer to your dreams.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Honestly I’m a country girl, I like to ride dirt bikes and be in nature. I like water so we’d most definitely do something outgoing, like the beach being that it’s in the area….and then because I love wine we’d go to Firehouse Wine Bar Downtown Mobile, Al. They offer a few cute appetizers that pair well with wines…like all of them. I’m a bartender on the weekends at Lure Nightclub Downtown so I’d find us something drink for sure! lol Lit Cigar Lounge is a good place to chill on the weekends as well!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
