We had the good fortune of connecting with Capusine Clemons and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Capusine, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risks are a good thing, provided they are taken in an intelligent way.

During the pandemic, I decided to resign from my full-time job in order to better grow our catering business. The journey has had its challenges. However, my husband/business partner fully maintains our household, while I focus on the business.

“Struggle does not mean failure. Struggle means success in not giving up” to remind me of the commitment I made to myself and family to keep pushing through no matter the obstacle. -unknown

This quote reminds me daily of the commitment I made to myself and family to keep pushing towards the goal no matter what the obstacles are.

Now going into our fourth year of our catering business, Capusine Cuisines has continued to flourish.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am. I can. I will. As a young girl, my dreams were very imaginative. I was raised to believe I can do all things that are possible. My ambition was to become a model. I attended John Casablancas Modeling School. And later signed with Atlanta Models and Talent. Which opened the door to becoming a certified image/consultant in the Atlanta market.

I wanted a mature and well-balanced husband. I married my high school sweetheart, and we will celebrate 26 years of marriage in August 2022 with a goal-driven and intelligent son.

I wanted to ensure I stayed consistent with my passion. I befriended the wellness and beauty industry, where I can apply all my gained knowledge and grow relationships with like-minded individuals.

I wanted to be innovative in my future, so I further mastered the art of cooking and food styling.I began manifesting a future in an industry where I am an artist. I bring imagination to life with food. My life isn’t unique, it’s not impossible to accomplish, you just have to be the greatest I AM you can be.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a New Orleans foodie who enjoys planning great and exciting events; therefore, I would start with adult beverages at The Battery located in Cobb County, the home of the 2021 World champions, the Atlanta Braves. Depending on the season, we can enjoy ice skating, a picnic on the green lawn, watching the game on a jumbotron, or purchase a ticket to the game. Because my palette gravitates to good authentic cultural foods. We will visit three of my top five favorites, Rocky Patel Burns, Superica, and Yard House. Don’t be fooled when coming from out of town, but Slutty Vegan got the best slutty burger around. No need to monitor your calories, Georgia is known for its many mountains, bike trails and walking parks. I want to ensure a week-planned itinerary is full of laughter, fun, and relaxation. Therefore, we will conclude the week with a spa day and wine tour at Chateau Elan to cap off the week.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
To whom much is given, much is required. Even though I enjoy reading and writing quotes, I am in love with the words of wisdom, comfort, loyalty, strength, and protection from my husband, Monterrio, and son, Tymashian. They continue to push and inspire and encourage me to tap into my full potential and never give up. Moreover, a big shoutout to my mother, Crystal Jusu, whose willingness to succeed, contributed to my work ethics, and the consistent support from my mother-in-love, Phyllis Labriola, who aided in some challenges and accomplishments, such as launching our virtual cooking classes. There are many others who have dedicated time and effort to help support my endeavors and I am beyond grateful to each person(s).
