We had the good fortune of connecting with Raina Ball and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Raina, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
Taking that time away from work for myself and my kids. I try to make sure the only time we spend together is not in my salon.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I feel my personality and me being me sets apart because I try to make a connection with everyone who sits in my chair. I am most excited and proud of my growth as a stylist compared from when I first started. I got to where I am now from always learning and working hard. I think my biggest obstacle has always been trying to balance being a mom and a entrepreneur. I’ve learned along the way is to always make time for myself and as well as for my kids. My brand is to always make the client feel great when they leave my salon.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Starting with breakfast or brunch at my favorite spots First Watch, and Another Broken Egg. Lately I’ve been getting into fitness, so definitely would have go on a day walk to Red Mountain. I love recommending, it’s definitely a serine adventure and hidden gem. In the evening I like to relax in the area I grew up in. Wenonah is definitely a small homely town, a place where everyone truly knows each other. There is a small “off the grid” spot called “Toots”, I’ve literally spent 15 minutes thinking of how to explain it, but it’s honestly a great vibe filled with good music, good people, and good times. I think nights on vacations should always be finished with fun and maybe a little competition so pack for bowling, mini/top golf. I actually wanted to go one of our new teams games. I’ve heard the Squadron, and Stallions games are definitely a great time for the whole family. I’m actually more of an introvert but whenever a friend comes to town I like to show them what The Ham has to offer.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my kids Paige & Zachary because everything I do is for them. I always want to give glory to God because without I would be nothing. I also want to thank all my peers who I have learned from through out the years and to my clients who have became my walking billboards I thank you as well.
