We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Too Much and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
My name is Chris Carner, stage name is Chris Too Much. Born & raised in Cleveland OH in a family where laughter was key growing up. Stand Comedy made a huge impact on my life when I was younger being exposed to greats such as Steve Harvey, Monique, BET’s Comicview &Def Jam as young as 8 years old and just being inspired. Bernie Mac is the one who put a fire under me to pick up a mic when I first saw him in the Kings of Comedy.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Laughter is the one gift I can give to counteract the constant BS of this world ee live in. Stand Up comedy has opened many doors and has allowed me to see so much. With this career, Ive been able to perform throughout my home state of Ohio, Detroit, and the recent pleasure of performing in Atlanta. The roars of laughter that come from crowds are what sets my heart on fire. Its what drives me to be better each go around and push the envelope even further. My main mission is to spread laughter as much & as far as I can and simply give the world joy (Pardon the Miss America answer, but its the truth 😅)
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well first of all, I need to know where the hell this friend works to get a whole week off work. Second if I had the opportunity came about, The whole week woulf probably revolve around food 😂 ATL has some of the best food Ive ran across in a longtime. From Old Lady Gang to Ms Iceys Kitchen. Hattie Bs Hot Chicken and K Michelle’s Puff n Petals whenever it reopens (those sweetpotato corn muffins are to die for) Safe to say, a trip with me to ATL will definitely add more weight & curves to you than a BBL ever could.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My biggest shoutout goes to my grandmother & grandfather Beverly & Wilbur, whose wisdom, values, and days of love & pure entertainment shaped me into the man I am today.
